On November 6, 2024 (3 p.m.), I met with academic advisors (AA), including my mentor, Associate Prof. Dr Mohamad Suhaidi Salleh. We held the meeting with AA at his office, located in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at UNIMAS, Level 2. We want to emphasize three contexts in this meeting: the objective, the impact, and the expectations for the meeting. When I was in AA, I had three goals in mind. The first objective was to identify academic strengths and weaknesses. This involved establishing discussions with academic advisors to identify abilities and weaknesses in one's own academic performance, and to obtain guidance on how to improve skills that were lacking. The second step is to talk about elective courses. University. This discussion is more focused on how to solve the problems faced when taking elective courses in the next semester. The extremely limited availability of the kouta led to numerous issues, including the inability to enroll in the course during the designated semester. Search for solutions and ways to handle the issue next semester. The third objective involves studying strategies for coping with academic stress, including time management techniques and strategies for balancing life and study. We achieved all three of these objectives through a joint meeting with AA. The meeting also had a significant impact on me personally. The meeting has significantly enhanced my understanding. Meeting with an academic advisor not only provides a more in-depth explanation of a particular subject but also aids in understanding a challenging topic, such as a 4-credit course. It was a bit difficult for me considering that the course required in-depth knowledge to understand some of the concepts and even theories learned. Consequently, I experienced an increase in my own motivation. Guidance and encouragement from academic advisors can inspire me to achieve success in academics and motivate them to keep working. Finally, my expectation of a meeting with an academic advisor was that my emotional and mental support would be more assured. The academic advisor's support provided me with motivation and the desire to continue achieving success in life. I was also very happy to discuss some of the topics with the academic advisor because he gave a lot of guidance and words of encouragement. I hope this encounter can help me better know myself and the potential I have in achieving my academic and career goals. #ppd1041 #reflectionmeetingwithAA #motivation🎓
