The Big Rule Change for NFL Kickoffs: The new kickoff rule breaks down like this: The kicker will line up on his 35-yard line, while the other 10 members of the kicking team will line up on the receiving team's 40-yard line, putting them considerably closer to the receivers. The receiving team must have at least nine blockers on a kickoff, and rather than spreading out across the field, they will all now line up between their own 35 and 30-yard lines, creating just five yards of space between the kicking team defenders and the receiving team blockers. Up to two designated return men on the receiving team will line up deep to return the ball.

Are you ready for some football? 🏈 I’ve been a loyal fan of the Miami Dolphins for decades. It all started when Dan Marino led them to the Super Bowl in ‘85. Unfortunately, I don’t think the 40 years of futility since then will end this year. And it’s in large part a capital allocation issue. I like the coach Mike McDaniel, but he can’t overcome the team’s two largest problems: 1. Every year, there are huge talent gaps and we can never seem to fill 2. Tua To elaborate on my issues with the quarterback: 👎 he’s a system quarterback so when the system is disrupted, he looks very ordinary 👎 he’s shown no ability to improvise 👎 A portion of that $54 million a year he’s getting paid could have been used to improve the team I know, I know. If we didn’t have Tua, I don’t know who else we would have, so he’s our QB. But realistically, I don’t see things changing this year in South Florida. Where’s your team headed this season? = = = 📌 We find alpha in markets where the crowd isn’t investing. 📌 Sign up for our commentary & newsletter in our Featured Section.

Choices and consequences. The life of a public sports figure is lived in a fish bowl. Like it or not, the DWI as applied to a professional OC (while presumably no different than when applied to an ordinary citizen) ripples throughout the organization and right to the issues of #reputationmanagement. It may also come back to haunt if a HC position comes up in the future. It was a mistake in all probability, a lapse of judgment, but for Phillips it was an unethical decision that stretches beyond the normal price paid for any DWI situation. https://lnkd.in/e7GFdmfJ
