Idea 19. We should have basic self defence training, first aid training, good touch -bad touch training given to all students at an early age. Every person in India needs to know basic self-defence techniques so they can protect themselves if they face some untoward incident. This needs to be taught not just to school students but especially to adolescent girls. First-aid training is given to school students in the West but not in Indian schools. Students need to be taught how to use fire extinguisher, what to do if there is a first degree burn, what to do if there is an earthquake suddenly, or if someone drowns, or there is fire in the kitchen etc. These practical life saving skills is a must in Indian schools. For kids, since statistics reveal that both boys and girls in India are equal victims of sexual harassment, they need to be taught the difference between good touch and bad touch and encourage them to speak up if this happens. Some top private schools in India do focus on these skills but most government schools don’t. This needs to be made mandatory across schools in India. #100days100idea

We're thrilled to share the heartwarming journey of one of our RAAH students, as recounted by their dedicated mother. Their child, diagnosed with cerebral palsy and facing lower IQ and speech concerns, initially struggled to cope with the academic demands of mainstream schooling. However, with the support of our Occupational Therapy (OT) and remedial programs, remarkable progress soon became evident. Witnessing the tangible improvements in their child's development, the family made the courageous decision to transition to RAAH, where personalized attention and tailored programs cater to their child's unique needs. Here, the focus extends beyond academics, encompassing crucial areas such as Activities of Daily Living (ADL), social skills, independent living, and recreation. In the past year, we've observed incredible growth, with the child demonstrating increasing independence and responsiveness to verbal prompts. A passionate dancer, their expressive nature shines through, reflecting a spirit of joy and enthusiasm. While challenges may arise, their resilience and willingness to learn prevail, showcasing a remarkable journey of empowerment and progress. At RAAH, we're committed to providing a nurturing environment where every child can thrive, embracing their individual strengths and fostering holistic development. Together, let's continue to champion inclusivity, resilience, and boundless potential. 💙 #RAAHSuccessStory #EmpoweringProgress #InclusiveEducation #CerebralPalsyAwareness #ParentTestimonial #HolisticDevelopment #DiverseAbilities #SupportingFamilies #EveryChildMatters #RAAHJourney

Objective 6 : Distribution of school supplies The lamp of education is ignited not only through basic educational facilities but also through access to educational materials. Sometimes, parents are unable to provide school materials to their children, leading many students to stray from education and leads toward crime and addiction. Through the Ganaadhish Avirat Seva Ani Sanvardhan Foundation, we aim to collect educational materials such as notebooks, books, school bags, pens, etc., through public participation. Additionally, we collect old bicycles, repair them, and distribute them to needy students for transportation to school. We also establish request bus stands near schools and provide uniforms to students. This scheme is designed to illuminate the future of school students by fostering their interest in education. #ganaadhish #ganaadhishngo #ganaadhishaviratseva #ganaadhishfoundation #ganaadhishsanvardhanfoundation #ngo #ngos #helpinghand #help #life #love #care #live #schools #students #pune #india #maharashtra #diversity

Foundational learning is essential for every child's education. The anganwadi system in India is key to providing these foundational skills, like alphabets and numbers, which are crucial for future learning. LECIN is enhancing this system in Uttar Pradesh. Many children miss out on this start, with a significant number never attending or dropping out of school early due to basic learning challenges. There is an urgent need to train excellent teachers within the anganwadi system. LECIN addresses this by providing intensive two-year training to anganwadi workers who then in return and help countless children with proper foundational education. A parent once said to one of us that their chidlren weren’t meant for education, believing they couldn't grasp educational concepts. "My daughter and I are fit only for household work," she said. But here's the inspiring part: that girl later graduated from an NGO-run anganwadi and enrolled in grade 1 at the local government school. This story shows that with support and access to foundational education, children can overcome barriers and succeed in their educational journeys. Let's work together to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn and grow. Equal access to education is a right of every child and youth in India. It plays a pivotal role in shaping our lives, as highlighted by former President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam, who emphasized that its purpose is to cultivate individuals with both moral character and practical skills. This underscores the significance of education in personal and societal development. However, for #CareLeavers, disrupted education and early childhood trauma often act as significant impediments to their adult outcomes and career development. The situation is particularly concerning for female care leavers, as they face additional challenges such as patriarchal norms, the societal stigma surrounding girls' education, safety concerns, and the lingering effects of their childhood experiences. The report "Beyond 18” in 2019 revealed a troubling statistic: 40% of care leavers had failed to complete their schooling even by the age of 18. This concerning situation is attributed to various factors detailed in the report, which delves into the complexities surrounding the education for care leavers, particularly females.
