Let's celebrate Arizona Gives Day! Arizona is home to more than 20,000 nonprofits providing services we rely on every day, and Arizona Gives Day was created to both strengthen and sustain Arizona's nonprofit community. While the platform is available for giving year-round, the 24-hour day of giving raises awareness, connects the public with businesses, and increases financial support for these important - and often critical - organizations. The organizations participating are more than "charity." Collectively, Arizona's nonprofits constitute a powerful economic engine. This is a great opportunity to engage with your favorite causes. Want to empower at-risk foster youth? Grow the foster network of your local animal rescue? Deliver critical supplies to homeless individuals? You can even choose a category like human services, animals, environment, and more to choose exactly who you want to support on April 2. Check out all 1,000+ organizations to support at azgives.org and donate to your passion!

Giving back never gets old. Seeing the impact of the donations received at The Giving Cup on local nonprofits is just one reminder why I will always fight for community banking. It’s not an easy industry to navigate. We have to fight against often unfair competition, scalability of resources, a regulatory environment which too often becomes one size fits all rather than focusing on the large institutions posing the most systemic risk and so many more challenges. The ability to differentiate ourselves as a community bank and remain relevant is a topic in every boardroom, yet so often in our industry fresh ideas are met with fear of change, resulting in banks finding it easier to merge or be acquired. Even on the hardest days, I am reminded we are here for more. I look at the students and teachers receiving recognition, fire departments receiving needed gear, those with disabilities receiving needed services, and children served at North Star receiving hope. Each check represents donations from merely cups of coffee. The little things do add up…so far to over $50,000 with 💯% being returned to organizations like North Star. What we stand for and how we give back as an industry is absolutely worth the fight. 🙌🏼 #whatbankingcanbe #banklocally #whereyoubankmatters ❤️
We stopped by North Star Child Advocacy Center’s Open House to present them with $2,000 from donations received at The Giving Cup! This brings North Star to a total received of $9,505! We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with them! The Giving Cup has received over $50,000 in donations to date helping our 6 local nonprofit beneficiaries better serve our community! #WhatBankingCanBe #BankLocally #TheGivingCup

Last week, Alton’s New York office took part in our Pledge 1% volunteer day initiative, once again teaming up with West Side Campaign Against Hunger (WSCAH) in Manhattan to help alleviate hunger in the city. WSCAH’s crucial work ensures all New Yorkers have access with dignity to a choice of healthy food and support services. In support of the organization’s community-focused mission, the Alton team helped prepare 1,490 bags of fresh or shelf-stable food to serve more than 600 families in New York. Each year Alton supports Pledge 1% https://lnkd.in/eW_ANjH, where we not only donate 1% of our revenue, but also 1% of our time to charitable causes. Please join us in helping West Side Campaign Against Hunger with its impactful work by donating here: https://lnkd.in/d3eDAKJ #community #socialresponsibility #corporatecitizenship #givingback #WSCAH #Pledge1%

Thanks to Chase Marable, MBA, PWCA and Tabatha Morrow for the invitation to this quarter's Volunteer Leaders of the Ozarks meeting! Volunteer managers, development professionals, and nonprofit organizations as a whole are facing new challenges as they look to connect with younger audiences. This group of leaders took time to review Habitat Communication & Culture's "Shaping Tomorrow" report, commissioned by Community Foundation of the Ozarks. The study considered important questions like: ❔ Do younger residents define charitable giving differently than their parents? ❔ What unique motivations and preferences drive those under 40 to engage in charitable giving or volunteerism? ❔ How can nonprofit agencies build and maintain trust with younger audiences?

Fatigue in disaster philanthropy is real - and it’s real troubling. Middle America has been getting decimated the past 48 hours, yet nobody is paying attention. At least 13 people were killed overnight, but there’s no outpouring of support. Organizations like Team Rubicon are on the ground, responding with the same urgency that’s been their hallmark for over a decade. Yet donations from the public will not follow. This will quickly become unsustainable for organizations like TR. Ask yourself this question: what can I do today to make a difference. If you’re not grabbing a go-bag and deploying to the disaster zone, can you spare $10 to propel someone that is? #teamrubicon #csr #corporatesocialresponsibility #socialimpact #disastermanagement #emergencymanagement #philanthropy #nonprofit
