What an incredible honor it was to be invited to speak at the Israeli Rabbis Leadership Convention in the United States. The event, held in Florida, was truly amazing, affording me the opportunity to connect with 42 rabbis from across America. I delivered a lecture on navigating organizational challenges and provided insights to help them enhance their daily operations, offering diverse strategies for restructuring their organizations. Witnessing the dedication of these rabbis, who tirelessly serve their communities day and night, left me deeply inspired.

Such a joy to join the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA Women's Leadership Resource Network to discuss one of my favorite things: values! My personal values are: Accountability, Courage, Ease, and Kindness, and my annual mission statement includes a statement or two about my values. It's really powerful to see how this mission statement changes each year. For 2024, it reads: 🔸 My purpose is to normalize the reality of workplace transitions, and support those who seek leaving well with intention and joy. 🔸 I lead with kindness, and believe in courage and accountability as needed steps in the staircase of change. 🔸 I enter spaces authentically, with welcoming, and possess fierce quiet power. 🔸 I will be known as someone who pushed the envelope, insisted on integrity, and showed up for impact. Each of us has the opportunity to 'operationalize' our values by choosing 1-2 small ways those values can live out in the open. If you think about the folks you most respect, it's very likely that the things you admire about them have a lot to do with their personal values. Yesterday, our Women’s Leadership Resource Network welcomed guest speaker Naomi Hattaway to our Coffee Break and Learn. Naomi is the Interim Executive Director at Dress for Success Tampa Bay. She shared with the group her unique journey through childhood to adulthood and how that shaped who she is as a leader today. She offered tools for leadership development and led the group through an exercise to discover our personal values and how to put them into a personal mission statement. Naomi, we are grateful for your time and sharing your story!

If you know me well, you know I’m always fangirling over Mr. Josh D'Amaro (aka future CEO of Disney ✨). In this video, he talks about how leadership is more important than ever. He shares his insights on being an inspiring leader who is essential for leading the team through boundless future and growth. Here are a few key points that resonated with me: 1. How you hold yourself matters: It’s how you say certain things and the way you carry yourself. If you do that, others will follow—that’s true leadership. 2. Treat your employees as you would a family member: Engage with them and show vulnerability. Building authentic connections is key. 3. Credibility is built over time. Simply holding a position of power isn’t effective—it’s about earning trust and respect over time. 4. Start with “I don’t know.” It’s a sign of vulnerability and a willingness to learn, which fosters true connection within your team. #leadership #growth #disney #workculture

Reflections from the YBLN Leadership Retreat: Growing Together Just returned from a truly enriching day at the YBLN Leadership Retreat. I'm mulling over the valuable insights shared and the connections made. I'd like to share a few thoughts that resonated with me, both as CEO of Oriental Remedies and as a continual learner: 1. Aligning Personal and Business Purpose: We dove deep into how our individual "why" shapes our company's direction. It got me thinking about how our team's personal values contribute to Oriental Remedies' mission of holistic healing. 2. Anticipating Unmet Needs: There was an enlightening discussion on looking beyond the obvious to serve our customers better. It reminded me of why we started Oriental Remedies - to address health needs that weren't being met by conventional methods. 3. The Power of Self-Awareness and Empathy: Perhaps the most impactful takeaway was this: to truly serve others, we must first understand ourselves. This hits home for our approach to personalized care at Oriental Remedies. A heartfelt thank you to Susan Chong, Yvon Bock, Bernadette Giam, Deon Senturk and Jia Yong Goh for your candid sharing and training. Your experiences and insights were both relatable and inspiring. As I look ahead, I'm excited to bring these learnings back to our team at Oriental Remedies. There's always room to grow, to serve better, and to make a more meaningful impact in people's lives. Curious about YBLN and opportunities like this? Feel free to reach out to them at ybln@sbf.org.sg! #LeadershipJourney #OrientalRemedies #YBLN #ContinuousLearning #HolisticHealth
Check out the highlights of our inaugural YBLN leadership retreat which came about when three of our YBLN members, Suhaimi Zainul-Abidin, Bernadette Giam and Jesher Loi casually discussed about what we could do differently this year for the community! With some 50 retreat participants, it was a day of discovery, learning and bonding! Grateful to Susan Chong, Yvon Bock, Bernadette Giam and Jia Yong Goh for the extremely insightful, relatable and thought-provoking opening and closing fireside chats. We are also deeply appreciative to Deon Senturk and EY for working with us to curate and execute the retreat. At YBLN, we reshape the future of business, one leader at a time. Truly a great chat shared by an outstanding example of what leadership should be. #Veterans bring just this kind of leadership style and experience to any team (in or out of uniform). Businesses would do well to look across their workforce to find these kinds of #leaders in their ranks. You might just be overlooking amazing talent who is adaptable to the challenges you face today and are ready to bring solutions you might not have thought of before.

I can tell early on when a company is our ideal client. They tend to talk about helping the people in their organization work smarter not harder. The IDEAL values provide great structure for this approach. #CultureOfProductivity #WorkSmartDoMore #Leadership
The 2024 Women’s Leadership Summit, hosted by the Owens & Minor WEN & WIT Teammate Resource Groups (TRGs), brought together leaders to explore the theme, “The IDEAL Leader in You!” Our CEO, Ed Pesicka, and CHRO, Jennifer Stone, SPHR, shared valuable insights on our IDEAL values, emphasizing how they shape our leadership approach and foster growth.
