On this International Women's Day, I find myself reflecting on the profound journey of women, their resilience, and their unyielding spirit in the face of adversity. It's a day that resonates deeply with me, weaving through my own narrative of love, and loss. As the world celebrates the myriad achievements of women, my heart is heavy with the stories of those who, like me, have navigated the tumultuous path of secondary infertility, miscarriages, and the heart-wrenching decisions that often accompany such personal trials. My journey has been marked by the joy of conceiving and the profound sorrow of losing three babies to miscarriage. It's a pain that is both unique and shared, a silent thread connecting countless women across the globe. The decision to terminate two pregnancies was not made lightly; it was a choice enveloped in a melancholic hope for a future where the health and wellbeing of a mother and child are paramount. This International Women's Day, my call to action is born from a place of intimate understanding and unwavering conviction. It's a plea to stand in solidarity with all women as we navigate these turbulent waters. We must channel our collective power to advocate for the sanctity of reproductive rights and the freedom to make decisions about our bodies and our futures. Family planning isn't merely a choice; it's the cornerstone of women's empowerment, a key driver for reducing poverty, and a critical factor in achieving sustainable development. It unlocks tremendous potential on a global scale. As a leader in women's health, Bayer deeply understands the transformative power of investing in contraception. It's a direct path to realizing the United Nations' SDGs. We've hence set an ambitious goal for ourselves: fulfilling the need of 100 million women in low-and middle-income countries with modern contraception by 2030. By co-creating solutions tailor-made for local needs with various partners across different healthcare ecosystems globally, we're empowering young people with knowledge, systemically removing barriers to care with innovative solutions, and enabling access to modern contraception. Reaching 46 million women in 2023 is a powerful testament to the strength of these partnerships. Breaking the Silence: Empowering Women's Fertility Journey For centuries, fertility issues in women have been shrouded in stigma and silence. It's time to break the taboo. As a hormone wellness coach, I'm passionate about helping women understand the root causes of fertility challenges and empowering them to take control of their reproductive health. While 2024 promises to be a groundbreaking year for women's health, we must also confront the significant setbacks of the past year. The erosion of reproductive rights and restricted access to care for the LGBTQ+ community, including in North Carolina, underscore the urgent need for focused action on healthcare equity. As a dedicated advocate for women's health, I'm both challenged and inspired by the landscape ahead. The spotlight on women's health is long overdue. For too long, women's health issues have been under-researched, underfunded, and under-discussed. But the tide is turning. From advancements in reproductive health to breakthroughs in heart disease and breast cancer research, we're witnessing an era of unprecedented focus and innovation. Let's champion this momentum to ensure women's health issues receive the attention and resources they deserve. Together, we can make 2024 a year of action and achievement for women's health. Happy International Women's Day #IWD2024 Today is about celebrating women's achievements, raising awareness about discrimination and continuing the mission to drive gender parity. This year's theme is 'Invest in women: Accelerate Progress' and this follows a string of good news regarding funding for women across many sectors, not least the amazing announcement by #potus yesterday in the state of union speech in which up to $12B will be committed to women's health research. Despite important days like today, where we should absolutely celebrate progress and achievements, we should spare some time to think about the women around the world who are less fortunate. Even in 2024, 800 women or girls die every day because of pregnancy or childbirth complications. 1 in 3 women suffer sexual or physical violence in their lifetime, and their continues to be unthinkable challenges for women in conflict zone. In order to overcome these challenges we MUST start by putting women and girls at the heart of everything we do, and every Government/major institution worldwide should ensure this is a priority. We all have a role in achieving this, and despite the magnitude of the problem, collective action is the only we will succeed.

At its core, the game embodies three fundamental pillars: 1. Sustainability: The game is designed with environmental consciousness in mind, encouraging discussions about sustainable menstrual health products and practices. It also fosters a deeper understanding of how responsible choices contribute to healthier communities and a healthier planet. 2. Gender: Menstrual and reproductive health is not just a "girls' issue"—it's a topic that impacts everyone. The "Red Carpet" game challenges stereotypes and promotes gender equality by engaging both boys and girls in open, informative conversations. By normalizing these discussions, the game helps dismantle stigmas and fosters mutual respect. 3. Inclusion: The game creates a safe, interactive space for children of all backgrounds to learn and share their thoughts. Its content is culturally sensitive and adaptable, ensuring that no child feels excluded or left out of the conversation. Nothing is more empowering for women than control of their own bodies. Any brand that trades on caring about women has an obligation to be in this fight. That means communicating support for women’s healthcare in your advertising, coming out with a company policy statement, creating tangible ways in which you will support your employees, giving employees time off to protest and paid time off to travel to get an abortion.
