This is a proud moment for BD Construction! We are thrilled to have played a part in contributing to a historic moment at the Trails and Rails Museum. Our team's hard work and expertise were crucial in laying the groundwork for the Sunflower School and seamlessly integrating it into the historical section of the museum. This project showcases our dedication to excellence in construction management and community enrichment.

Well be did was I coordinated with the owners to location of the school which was minimize their cost and we poured the foundation in the block and installed all the block for the school. Your treasonous I did the original first half of Trails and Rails building back in 2017. Which we poured all the concrete and did all the steel erection for at the time and the parking lot. My first project of my own. So those are important one. So it's kind of nice to get back 2 trails and rails again and do a little something extra for the owners. Basically two of the four sides of it it's covered up by. Plywood sheeting to protect it from the baseballs from hidden at the old field, and so once they pull that off, you'll expose the rest of the siding in which they could scrape and repaint. So the school actually has a really fun history. The earliest records we found of it are from the 1880s where the District 23 schoolhouse was originating. It wasn't in that building, but over time it was constructed and added on to to be the schoolhouse that it is today. It was in Cedar Township originally and then over time it was moved to Pleasanton. And served as a lunch room in a different school. And then it was no longer the District 23 schoolhouse and it was used as part of Heaven's Chapels Church. After that, it came to us many years later. So the process of getting the school essentially was that haven't Chapel no longer wanted to have it attached to their building anymore? So we kind of heard about the school and its history and determined that it would be a good fit for our museum property because we have a lot of other historic buildings. And so in order to save the school from demolition, we began talking to the people at Havens Chapel about acquiring it. He had to coordinate with the city and get power lines moved out of the way. It was physically driven on a trailer all the way to our site. And then we had a foundation placed with BD Construction and it was seated on that foundation in April. So the school is going to become our World War Two themed exhibit. It'll be based around the Kearney Army Airfield and we're going to kind of expand our museum property by adding the fence around the new building. And we'll make this section of our property the 20th century, and we're going to keep the remaining property that we already have established as the 19th century. We, just as the Buffalo County Historical Society, we, we understand that physical materials, including buildings, are a part of our collective history. And so to preserve some of these buildings is really important to us to keep some of that history alive. So while the interior of the school will be used as our Carney Army Airfield exhibit, we're actually going to keep some of that history of the Sunflower School, which was District 23, alive by framing the building. Making it look as it would have when it was still in use. Well, I like working with Jennifer and and Treasurer's group because they're I've worked with them on their previous projects. And they're easy to work for and they I just, I've always enjoyed working there. Always just you're straight forward with her and tell her what you going on she has no problems with. What we're doing out there, so.

The British Museum has appointed our UK Project Management team to deliver its Visitor Welcome Programme. The programme has been designed to contribute to the British Museum’s long-term masterplan and will see the delivery of a new Energy Centre, and the refurbishment of the ‘Western Range Galleries’. With the museum attracting over 6 million visitors annually, the programme will also focus on enhancing the visitor experience. The partnership builds on our initial engagement earlier this year, where we managed the design competition for the team responsible for the early RIBA stages of the programme.
