On Friday, April 19, 2024, and Monday, April 22, 2024, ICI Bucharest participated in two sessions of the Bucharest Leaders' Summit, an event organized by the Department for Sustainable Development (Dezvoltare Durabilă), Media Group MediaUno and the National Institute of Statistics - Romania. The topics addressed were "Connecting the future: Digitization and cyber security of Romania" and "New horizons: Catalyzing progress through research and innovation". Victor Vevera, general director of ICI Bucharest, said: "Our participation in the Bucharest Leaders' Summit represents an opportunity to contribute to the debates about Romania's digital future and the role of research and innovation in the progress of our society. What does Digital Solidarity mean for a more stable cyberspace? 🌐 At last week’s Securing Cyberspace panel hosted by @DIGITALEUROPE, Deputy Assistant Secretary Liesyl Franz emphasized its role as a cornerstone of the U.S. International Cyberspace & Digital Policy Strategy.   Whether through EU-US collaboration, G7+ alignment, or private-sector innovation, solidarity drives progress toward shared goals like cybersecurity, resilience, and inclusivity. Together, we can shape a future where cyberspace is secure for everyone.

📣🚀 I'm excited to share that the Council of Europe has published my research on emerging forms of #cyberviolence against women, within the context of #cybersecurity. 📌 This research focuses on the rise of cybercrimes like #deepfakes,#cyberbulling #cyberstalking, #cyberblackmailing, and others, while addressing the legal frameworks, societal perceptions, and challenges faced by victims in recognizing and reporting these crimes. 📌 As our daily lives become increasingly integrated with the #digitalspace, it's crucial to be #cyber-literate and educate girls, women, and everyone on how to protect themselves from becoming victims of cybercrime. 📌 Alongside empirical findings, the study presents an overview of these crimes and proposes an effective and comprehensive #actionplan to combat them in #Armenia. Empowering women for #CyberTech is one of the strategic objectives of the Western Balkans Cyber Capacity Centre (WB3C). By joining forces with our partners Urad Vlade Republike Slovenije za informacijsko varnost, CEP - Centre for European Perspective, Women4Cyber Slovenia and Women4Cyber Montenegro on 30 Sep to 1 Oct, we worked with inspiring women cyber experts from different industries and administrations across the region on understanding the political, economic, societal and technical context in which cyber threats occur and empowering them to champion, lead and develop new talent for the cyber industry. Regional and international cooperation are of utmost importance in building capacities, sharing knowledge and tackling cyber threats in the Western Balkans.
