Happy National Rivers Month! Ways to Celebrate: 🛶 Enjoy a local river - maybe try a new water sport like canoeing or paddle boarding. Practice meditation or mindful movement by a river. These activities will do wonders for your mental and physical health! 🗑️ Do a cleanup - be a river steward by participating in or leading a cleanup. Remember to bring trash bags, and use work gloves to protect your hands from sharp and dirty items. 👥 Organize a meetup - arrange an event to celebrate your local river with friends and community members. Try something simple like hosting your next book club meeting by the river. Expand your reach by contacting a local environmental non-profit or rowing club to collaborate on a river-focused event. 📑 Research local river heritage - this month is a great time to learn about the history of your local river. How was it used by indigenous people, and how did these uses evolve through today? #nationalriversmonth #riverheritage #rivers #riverconservation #stewardship

Think of fundraising like gardening. 🌱 You can’t expect a garden to flourish if you’re just watching it from a distance. To truly see it thrive, you’ve got to dig in, get your hands dirty, and tend to each plant with care. It’s the same with fundraising. You can’t just talk about the mission from the comfort of your office. If you've never come face to face with the need your organization is trying to meet, can you really convince yourself to passionately advocate for it? You need to immerse yourself in the need.💯 Only then can you nurture real, meaningful connections with your donors based on a mutual desire to support your cause. Want to dig deeper on this topic? Read our blog post, "Get Your Hands Dirty." https://lnkd.in/eYukjPkk Do you have a story about the time you came face to face with the need? Tell us all about it!👇👇 #nonprofitfundraising #fundraisingleaders #nonprofitleadership #donorengagement #philanthropy #nonprofitmanagement #leadershipdevelopment #nonprofitgrowth

Below is my interesting biometric WHOOP data for July 4th, a day that included working an 8-hour shift as a Sauna Master. Executive Brief: You burn a shocking number of calories spending that much time in the sauna. Why? Increased heart rate, sweating, thermoregulation, elevated metabolism, post-sauna calorie burn as the body works harder to cool down and return to a normal state. Job Responsibilities: Ensured the wood-burning sauna was kept warm with optimal humidity. Entertained guests in the sauna with stories and sauna facts. Kept cold plunge stocked with ice. Whoop Data: Strain: 19.4 (strain between 18 and 21 represents near maximal cardiovascular load). Calories Burned: 5,135 Average Heart Rate: 94 (30-day average is 73 bpm) Resting Hear Rate: 75 (30-day average is 59 bpm) Heart Rate Variability: 61 ms (30-day average is 62)
At Sauna House, we are passionate about building community and giving back. As a 1% for the Planet member, we support organizations like the Eno River Association, an accredited land trust and conservation nonprofit dedicated to conserving and protecting the natural, historical, and cultural resources of the Eno River Basin. Recently, we held our first mobile sauna activation in Durham, North Carolina, during the Festival for the Eno. We offered free sauna and cold plunge sessions to the community while supporting a great cause. It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with our community members before our Durham bathhouse opens this September. We look forward to more exciting activations this summer to spread good vibes and give back. ❤️ #DurhamNC #SaunaHouse #Community #CommunityBuilding
