Our portable #PCRsmart and proprietary test panel helped accurately diagnose the cause of diarrhea in a dog. It took us just three hours to determine the bacteria responsible for the infection, including sample collection, logistics, testing and communication with the vet. Thanks to our technology, the vet selected the right antibiotic, and the dog's condition visibly improved less than a day after the medication was prescribed. Pet veterinary medicine is another area of future application of the compact and remarkably fast #rtPCR molecular diagnostics platform we have developed. 👉 With this: ☑ we will shorten the treatment time, and thus the discomfort of the animals - on-site testing will enable results to be obtained in up to 90 minutes (for the entire procedure); ☑ we will improve accuracy in well medication, contributing to the reduction of #AMR phenomenon ☑ by applying the platform to veterinary practices, we will increase the diagnostic and economic capabilities of clinics. A big round of applause for the brave patient #Pluto, fully recovered thanks to Vet supported by our molecular platform. #PCRsmart #Vets #FoodSafety #rtPCR #portableDiagnostics

Don’t miss this insightful interview with Dr Johan Oosthuyse, CEO of V-Tech, as he discusses the impact of the ban of Trilostane – a medication vital for managing Cushing's disease in pets. 🐾 What is Cushing's Disease? Cushing's disease primarily affects dogs, causing hair loss, abdominal swelling, and metabolic disruptions. Trilostane has been a life-changing solution, significantly improving affected pets' quality of life and longevity. ⚠️ Why is Trilostane Unavailable? The crux lies in regulatory interpretations. Trilostane isn’t a registered product in South Africa, limiting its import and use despite its proven safety and efficacy. Recent bans have left approximately 2,000–3,000 pets without access to this essential treatment. 💡 V-Tech's Role As a in the veterinary industry, V-Tech has been compounding Trilostane under veterinary prescriptions for years. Dr Oosthuyse emphasised that collaboration and clear communication with regulatory bodies are essential to avoid such crises in the future.
