🌍 World Mental Health Day 🌍 Let’s shine a light on a critical area: the mental health support for adopted, foster, and kinship children. These young people often carry the weight of unique challenges and traumas, but with the right tools and support, they can heal and thrive. 💙💚💖 Schools play a vital role in this process. Trauma-informed environments create safe spaces where children feel valued, understood, and empowered to succeed. Together, we can advocate for policies and resources that ensure every child, no matter their story, has access to the care they deserve. 🛠️🧠 Let’s make mental health a priority for all children. #WorldMentalHealthDay #TraumaInformedCare #MentalHealthMatters #FosterCare #AdoptionSupport #KinshipCare #ChildAdvocacy #StrongerTogether #ThrivingChildren

"Let's talk about something often overlooked: the impact of car wrecks on children's mental health. 🚗💥 It's easy to forget that little ones in the backseat can be deeply affected by the trauma of an accident. From anxiety and nightmares to behavioral changes and academic struggles, the repercussions can be profound and long-lasting. As caregivers, educators, and community members, it's crucial that we recognize and address the emotional toll that car wrecks can take on children. Providing a supportive environment, open communication, and access to professional help can make all the difference in helping our youngest cope and thrive after such a frightening experience. Let's work together to raise awareness and support for the mental well-being of children impacted by car wrecks. Every child deserves the opportunity to heal and grow resilient in the face of adversity. #ChildMentalHealth #CarWrecks #SupportAndHealing" #personalinjurylaw #personalinjury #personalinjurylawyer

This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek we want to highlight the importance of supporting the mental health needs of children in kinship care. 💛 Our research shows that children living in #KinshipCare - being raised by a relative or family friend because a parent can't - have often experienced trauma and loss. As a result, they are more likely to have higher levels of mental health needs than children in the general population. We know that the unmet demand for mental health support for children growing up in kinship care is significant. Even where this type of support is provided, #KinshipFamilies are struggling to access it. Kinship's 'Cost of Loving' report revealed that nearly two thirds of #KinshipCarers said accessing mental health support for their children was difficult or very difficult. Join the #ValueOurLove campaign which is calling on the Government to equalise support (including therapeutic support) for children in #KinshipCare and children in #FosterCare: https://loom.ly/XQLm2q0

This is very insightful. In a recent analysis by EduDream, education stakeholders reported that overall investment in education has not kept pace with the increasing demands placed on it, including wraparound services for students and families. All the while, there has been a decrease in funding key nutrition, health and family support programs. What can policymakers do to address funding gaps and support families and students? #education #schoolfunding #supportstudents #communityschools
Texans support increasing state funding for wraparound services, such as mental health services for students and food assistance resources for students’ families. View the 2024 #TexasEducationPoll: https://lnkd.in/gU8azjh9
