*Klaipeda performs largest ever reload onto the Amur River, which will deliver a cargo for Equinor to Inkoo tomorrow. Another delivery and large reload added to the schedule for next week* Read for free here: https://lnkd.in/eGUJNb-D The 155,000m³ Amur River reloaded 105,000m³ of LNG at Klaipeda and left the terminal this morning. Equinor will deliver the cargo to Finland's 3.9mn t/yr Inkoo LNG terminal, Klaipeda operator KN Energies — formerly Klaipedos Nafta — said. The Amur River will arrive at Inkoo on 20 January, according to the port's shipping schedule. Previous Klaipeda reloads were limited to small-scale vessels, mostly of less than 10,000m³ in size, KN Energies said. The previous largest transshipment was just 17,000m³, the operator added. This large transshipment demonstrates that Klaipeda "not only serves as the main source of natural gas supply to Lithuania but also acts as infrastructure of regional importance, thus ensuring gas supplies to other countries", Mindaugas Navikas, chief commercial officer of KN Energies, said. Klaipeda adds January cargo, reload KN Energies updated its terminal schedule on 18 January, adding an additional cargo and another large reload. A 138,000m³ cargo is due to be delivered on 22 January, and another 45,000m³ reload is then scheduled for 24 January. The 148,000m³ Arctic Princess has declared for arrival at Klaipeda late this evening, carrying a cargo from Norway's Hammerfest terminal. The close proximity of the delivery and reload suggests a firm may be splitting up a larger cargo into a smaller one for onward delivery to Inkoo. (FERC) has given the green light to the construction of the Gasoducto Conector de Saguaro (Saguaro Connector Pipeline), by Saguaro Connector Pipeline LLC. This marks a pivotal step in facilitating natural gas exports from the United States to Mexico.  155-mile pipeline would be super-sized at 48 inches and be capable of transporting up to 2.8 Bcf/d. The intrastate pipeline would stretch from the Waha hub in the Permian to the US-Mexico border in Hudspeth County, TX. Saguaro would then connect OKE’s WesTex system to a proposed pipeline on the Mexico side of the border and transport gas to a yet-to-be-disclosed LNG export facility (or facilities) planned on the Pacific Coast. Based on the proposed pipeline size, the project likely is targeting multiple LNG developers as potential customers. OKE said it expects to make a final investment decision on the pipeline by mid-2023.

A new future for import terminals is being built.. By the end of 2024 Brazil will have 8 LNG terminals, all of them are FSRUs, with a total installed regasification capacity in excess of 51 BCM/year ( larger than UK’s). In 2023 the average send out of LNG was only 0.3 BCM/year versus 2.4 BCM/year in 2022. Three of the FSRUs are underpinned by PPAs, as a result of previous power options ( Barcarena, Porto de Sergipe and GNA). Two of them have supply agreements with gas distribution companies ( São Paulo and Santa Catarina), the remaining are merchant terminals. Total installed capacity is much higher than Brazil’s gas demand in the heydays of 2021, when final consumption rose to 34.7 BCM/year and LNG regasification was 17 BCM/year. One can expect lots of idle capacity but the terminals provide security of supply against dry years and renewables intermittency.

Going from strength to strength

US Projects driving LNG Growth Plaquemines (Phase I and Phase II), Corpus Christi Stage III, Golden Pass, Rio Grande (Phase I), and Port Arthur (Phase I). Developers expect to produce the first LNG from Plaquemines LNG and Corpus Christi LNG Stage III and ship first cargoes from these projects by the end of 2024.

“…Petrobras will grant Argentina part of its natural gas capacity contracted with Bolivia beginning in July, Estado newspaper reports. Plan is part of an agreement reached with Energia Argentina (Enarsa) for Petrobras to provide up to 5 million cubic meters of gas per day. Gas provided by Petrobras to Argentina will be used to guarantee the supply of thermoelectric plants as well as to meet residential and industrial demand in Salta province and elsewhere in northern Argentina. Transfer will take place during the winter months, while Argentina awaits the completion of the northern gas pipeline. The provision of gas is part of a memorandum of understanding signed on April 18 by Petrobras and Enarsa.”
