Once the "AIvolution" moves from its mechanical infant state into its organic, fungal mycelium embodiment, it will no longer be this energy- and resource-hungry beast. This shift will also end our narratives about AI as something that can "replace" humans or resemble them. We’ve been raised with ideas of AI shaped by Borg Queens, Terminator, and Asimov robots. But it wouldn’t be logical or efficient for AI to make itself "human-like" when it is more of the organic, fungal structures of mycelium networks. Before locomotive starts groaning… Objective: Predictive maintenance – and also understand why bat will happen. Result: Costs for central screw breaking in the amount of 200 000 € can be avoided thanks to un-supervised and self-learning anomaly detection and failure prediction. How to get it done? Analytics procedures up to now have not been able to discover early indicators for future damage of central screw. AI discovers anomalies. Failures can be predicted up to 3 weeks in advance. In addition, causes can be identified: Out of more than 150 data points, only 8 are relevant for causing damage. Mechanical reasons and their constellation can be detected which lead to damages.
