If you know me personally, you know that I am—first and foremost—driven by a deep commitment to and love of humanity. Carbon markets revolve around tonnes of CO2, percentage reductions, and degrees of warming—critical metrics that ultimately represent lives protected from floods, heat waves, and famine. My dedication to the #VCM comes from its potential to drive long-term humanitarian benefits by acting on climate today. Therm Solutions latest project blends climate action with immediate human impact. Our Food Waste Reduction Credits target methane, a powerful super-pollutant, and directly address food insecurity. Plus, a portion of every credit sold supports food banks in the communities where we work. ⏰ Tackling food insecurity means millions of Americans get to eat food tonight. 📉 Addressing super-pollutants delivers measurable climate benefits in the next 15-20 years. Join us in working toward a future where food and climate challenges are solved together. #WorldFoodDay
This #WorldFoodDay, we're reminded that food is a basic human right—third only to air and water. Everyone, everywhere should have access to diverse, nutritious, affordable, and safe food. That’s why Therm Solutions donates a portion of all proceeds from our Food Waste Carbon Credits to food banks in the project areas, ensuring that even more food is diverted to those who need it most. Together, we can reduce waste, fight hunger, and protect our planet. Join us in raising awareness about the #RightToFood for all. https://lnkd.in/gXd-FPH2

🌍 World Food Day: A Moment for Reflection and Action On October 16th, we observe World Food Day, raising awareness about global hunger and food sustainability. In 2023, between 713 million and 757 million people faced hunger, and over 2.8 billion people couldn’t afford a healthy diet in 2022. Even in the EU, many struggle with the rising cost of food. At the same time, food waste remains a pressing issue—132 kg of edible food per person was wasted in the EU last year. To combat this, the EU is working toward ambitious targets to reduce food waste and promote food donations. 🫵 What can each of us do? We can make small changes: reduce food waste at home, donate to local food banks, and choose sustainable food options. Together, we can make a difference! 🔗 Check out infographic to learn more. https://lnkd.in/eTprAtrA #WorldFoodDay #Sustainability #ZeroHunger #FoodWaste #TakeAction

Excited to be a panelist at Yorkshire Sustainability Festival this afternoon because over 4M tonnes of edible food goes to waste in the UK each year while 11M people face food insecurity. Through its manifesto 'Where’s the Food? Strengthening Communities Through Surplus Food Redistribution’ FareShare UK is calling on the next government to make it easier for businesses to donate surplus food through: • Subsidies for farmers to cover redistribution costs • Tax benefits for businesses donating surplus food • Mandatory food waste reporting • Clear guidelines for ‘good samaritans’ on food donation safety • Sustained funding for farm level food redistribution • A UK-wide plan to end emergency food aid • Resources for local food waste and food security projects Every £1 FareShare spends on redistributing yields almost £6 in social value, saving millions for services like the NHS and fostering resilient, sustainable communities.
