Many of the places I visit are full of users who don't want to think about control systems, don't want to deal with hundreds of options on a touch panel, they just want to press "start" and have everything work in the way they expect. Many of these places also require these users to carry ID cards. Surely there could be a way to store the settings a user wants to use and recall those from their ID cards? Of course these kinds of solutions don't need to be the ONLY source of control in a room. (yes, another quick idea/demo put together in QSC Q-Sys, this time with a cheap RS232 card reader)

Excited to share my latest project: a software-based Real-Time Clock (RTC) system designed for scenarios where hardware RTC chips are impractical. Leveraging the 8051 microcontroller, this implementation features: ⏰ One-second timer interrupt mechanism for accurate timekeeping. 💻 Structured time variable management, including leap year handling. 🖥️ Integration with DS1302 hardware RTC for comparative analysis. 🔢 Input mechanisms for time setting on both RTCs. 📺 Visual representation on a 16x2 LCD display. EDMI meter firmware version 2.460.02 has been released for general use, bringing enhanced MODBUS functionality to the Series 3 meter hardware. This update includes critical bug fixes and improvements for the following EDMI models: MK7A, MK7C, MK10D, and MK10E. To ensure a smooth transition and to achieve MODBUS activation, a 'live' change needs to be performed on the Series 3 hardware. Here's another way to shave weeks off development time. Don't re-invent the wheel. For the right application, using a Lantronix Xport (XP1001000-05R pictured here) can turn a familiar UART application into an ethernet connected device without the overhead of the associated hardware. It also makes ethernet applications possible for simple microcontroller hardware. Compared to some other PC interfaces, the sustaining is simpler because there simply are no drivers that go out of date, and it works across any operating system using a telnet-like interface.
