Many of the places I visit are full of users who don't want to think about control systems, don't want to deal with hundreds of options on a touch panel, they just want to press "start" and have everything work in the way they expect. Many of these places also require these users to carry ID cards. Surely there could be a way to store the settings a user wants to use and recall those from their ID cards? Of course these kinds of solutions don't need to be the ONLY source of control in a room. (yes, another quick idea/demo put together in QSC Q-Sys, this time with a cheap RS232 card reader)

I have had clients ask for this type of thing. One of my clients summed it up this way. We can dumb things down for the majority, but we're going to overwork the minority of administrators and support staff who already have a hard time keeping up with new hire and termination badges, phone apps, access codes, etc. Let's educate and discourage laziness.

Huge fan of this! I feel the card readers on the G3 TSC’s could be used for so much more automation!

I like this. If a particular user likes a room setup in a particular way (byod or compute / dual monitors set up right / relay monitors setup right / lights / blinds / volumes / temp) why not have the room processor store and retrieve those settings based on an RFID tag. Doesn't need to be compulsory - just an addon. That's a sweet little addon idea.
