False positives are the real banana peel for MCED testing. While it's good to hear that false positive generally stay false positives, there are a lot of financial and logistical toxicities along the way...which may not be covered by healthcare benefit plans. "Among the 98 participants with FP CancerSEEK results, cancer was ruled out by 18-F-FDG PET-CT alone in 63 cases, while 35 participants had further non-invasive or minimally invasive procedures to rule out cancer or to investigate the 18-F-FDG PET-CT findings." https://lnkd.in/gXYWBT-x

Leaving Chicago and #ASCO24, we asked our co-founder Elizabeth Sarkar to share her top 3 highlights: 💡 Compelling data presented by Dr. Holly Pederson on substantially improved risk assessment for aggressive triple-negative breast cancer, including early onset, in a cohort of almost 15,000 Black women. 💡 Key statistics on cancer screening and survival from the Industry Expert Theater on Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED), sponsored by GRAIL: ☑ >70% of cancer deaths result from cancers without recommended screening ☑ 86% of cancers are not found through recommended screening ☑ ~4x increased survival rate when diagnosed early 💡 Connecting with old friends and colleagues, including a special hematologic oncologist (and family member!) who is leading great progress in multiple myeloma research and clinical development. Our team is inspired by the visionary advancements showcased at ASCO. We are excited about the future of cancer screening, prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment. If you were at #ASCO24, what were your highlights?
