At its current size of $949 billion in 2023, the carbon market is still small and possesses great potential. For me, it was a great opportunity to come to Singapore to attend the CarbonForward Asia conference and feel this potential becoming a reality. It was great to see old friends and meet new friends and potential partners--let's continue our dedicated efforts and collaborate further to make a lasting impact on the climate. #climateaction #carbonmarket #vcm #carboncredits #carbonforward
After attending the two-day conference organized by Carbon Pulse & Redshaw Advisors Ltd in Singapore, we are thrilled by the positive information shared about the carbon market. All participants in this market, including project proponents, traders, investors, and buyers, acknowledge the undeniable role and influence of the carbon market, despite the inherent risks stemming from differences and changes in policy. Given the outcomes of COP28 and aftershocks of COVID-19, the Carbon Forward Asia conference, which brought together all participants at this critical juncture, has had a profound impact on the market. As a carbon project development company from China, QYH sees this as an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with partners and friends from around the world. It's a chance to learn about their efforts in climate change mitigation and to understand the trends in the voluntary carbon market. During the conference, QYH also had the opportunity to introduce our sustainable grassland management (SGM) projects to participants who may have had questions about this emerging project type. Regardless of whether it's IFM, ARR, or SGM, nature-based projects continue to serve an important role in the market, and all participants engaging with such projects are committed to making a positive impact and won't cease in their efforts. We extend our appreciation to Carbon Pulse and Redshaw Advisors for organizing this event—it was a pleasure to meet and connect with friends in Singapore! Thank you to everyone involved in making Carbon Forward a success. #CarbonForwardAsia #CFAsia2024 #carbonmarkets #carbontrading #carbon #sustainability #climateaction Beijing Qianyuhui Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. Southeast Asian nations are stepping up as global climate leaders at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, presenting innovative solutions and advocacy for urgent change. Here's how some countries are driving impact: 🔹 Singapore: Showcased its green innovation with a pavilion constructed from recycled materials and powered by collaborative dialogues on sustainable pathways to limit warming to 1.5°C. 🔹 Philippines: As the host of the Loss and Damage Fund, it highlighted the need for equitable disbursement of resources to vulnerable communities while keeping a strong focus on adaptation and resilience. 🔹 Indonesia: Blended culture with policy by integrating traditional art to emphasize inclusivity in climate action while discussing renewable energy and forestry reforms. 🔹 Malaysia: Pioneered discussions on carbon markets and sustainable finance, emphasizing its ambitious legislative milestones, including its upcoming Climate Change Act. Despite resource constraints, these nations are calling for greater accountability from developed countries to fulfil their $100 billion climate finance pledge—a commitment that remains unmet. With the stakes high, ASEAN nations are proving that small voices can have a big impact on the global stage. It was truly incredible to attend Carbon Forward Asia in Singapore last week and have the opportunity to interact with such a wide range of participants in the VCM. Being based in China these last few years made it difficult to attend such events, and it was wonderful to see new and familiar faces abroad as we all gathered to advance our common cause: building out carbon markets to have real climate impact. Whether it was expert dialogue on stage or a short chat over coffee, the conversation at the event was exciting, insightful, and motivating for the kind of work we are doing at QYH. The discussion during the panels on “Asia’s Growing VCM Demand” and “Asian Nature-based Solutions” left an especially strong impression on me—the fact that voluntary markets are for “before and beyond compliance markets” and that “NBS projects are not so much nature-based solutions as they are people-based solutions” really resonated and are things that I’ve taken back with me to Beijing. While operating in the VCM in China certainly has its unique set of challenges, it was a pleasure to be able to share our progress at QYH with those we met during both days of the event. It was equally a pleasure to learn from others in the industry, whether they were analysts, traders, investors or innovators in carbon markets here and around the world. Thanks to Carbon Pulse and Redshaw Advisors Ltd for putting on such a great event. We look forward to following up with everyone, exploring ways to cooperate together, and meeting again in the future! #CarbonForwardAsia #CFAsia2024 #carbonmarkets #carbontrading #naturebasedsolutions #nbs #climateaction
