🌍 Statement from Julie McKinlay, Director, Humanitarian, Resilience & Advocacy, CARE Canada: “The Knesset’s vote on Monday to ban UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) from operating in areas under Israel’s control will have tragic consequences on a massive scale. The UN has already declared that Palestinians in the north of #Gaza is now at risk of death. This risk will increase dramatically if the UNRWA ban goes into effect." No other agencies can replace UNRWA's vital role in #Gaza. This ban is indefensible and will make it even more difficult to deliver desperately needed aid. We urge world leaders to do all they can to reverse this devastating decision, ensuring humanitarian access and securing a #CeasefireNOW. Lives depend on it. MMOB + seriously reflecting on my advocacy for Syrian refugees years ago ~ for their full settlement and integration into the societies they were forced to relocate to at the onset of the Syrian crisis! Germany etal; while having all Syrian expatriates/professionals relocating back to Syria might not be advisable &/ even feasible; I believe that we can work a win-win solution to this "return back to Syria call". I believe that Germany etal can partner with the new Syrian government to rebuild Syrian infrastructures (including educational & health infrastructures) and also facilitate regular outreaches by Syrian professionals to Syria going forward to enable them contribute their quotas to the rebuilding of their country while still benefiting their host countries/communities maximally. #GbolahanOlubowaleMSW #RebuildingBackBetter. #Road2UNSG or #Road2NuclearWWIII https://lnkd.in/gkqjbCQm

The war in Sudan is a complex and longstanding conflict that has resulted in widespread violence, displacement, and humanitarian crises. The conflict can be traced back to various factors, including ethnic tensions, political power struggles, and competition over resources. One of the key aspects of the conflict is the ongoing violence between the Sudanese government forces and various rebel groups in different regions of the country, such as #Darfur, South Kordofan, and Blue Nile. #This violence has led to the displacement of millions of people, with many fleeing to refugee camps or neighboring countries. The conflict has also been marked by human rights abuses, including allegations of #genocide, #war_crimes, and #crimes against humanity. #Civilians have been targeted, and there have been reports of widespread #sexual_violence and other atrocities. Efforts to resolve the conflict have been challenging, with various peace agreements being signed and broken over the years. International organizations and peacekeeping missions have been involved in trying to bring #stability to the region, but the situation remains fragile. The humanitarian situation in Sudan is dire, with millions of people in need of assistance, including food, shelter, and medical care. Access to basic services is limited in many areas, and the ongoing violence makes it difficult for #aid organizations to reach those in need. In summary, the war in Sudan is a complex and devastating conflict that has had a profound impact on the lives of millions of people. Efforts to bring peace and stability to the region are ongoing, but much more needs to be done to address the root causes of the conflict and provide support to those affected. In a powerful gesture of solidarity, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has pledged a substantial aid package of Rs.100 million for the embattled people of Gaza. With the death toll in Palestine surpassing a staggering 32,000 since October 2023, predominantly affecting innocent women and children amidst relentless military offensives by Israel, the humanitarian crisis has reached dire proportions. Many countries, including Pakistan, are expressing concern about the increasing violence and humanitarian crisis in Gaza. They are calling for an immediate ceasefire to be put in place. The international community is becoming more and more worried about the possibility of famine and disease outbreaks. Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif, an aide to CM Gandapur has confirmed that the government is committed to supporting Gaza. He stated that the allocated funds would be used to procure essential supplies for the affected population. Dr. Saif emphasized the unwavering solidarity of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and urged Muslim nations and the global community to step forward and extend assistance to Palestine during this critical time. Pakistan maintains a steadfast stance on the Palestinian issue, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on internationally recognized parameters and the pre-1967 borders. Pakistan has no diplomatic ties with Israel and continues to firmly support the Palestinian cause. Millions of people worldwide share this sentiment and demand justice and peace for Gaza. Today (29th Nov), on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, we reaffirm our commitment to justice, equality, and peace. This day serves as a solemn reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by the Palestinian people. Recent months have seen devastating humanitarian crises, with over 2.3 million people in Gaza and 5 million across Palestine in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. According to reports: • Thousands of civilians have lost their lives, including children, due to ongoing conflict. • Over 1.6 million people in Gaza face severe food insecurity, with health and education systems on the verge of collapse. • Hundreds of thousands have been displaced from their homes, adding to an already staggering number of refugees. Solidarity is more than words; it is action. It is standing together for a just and lasting solution that ensures peace, dignity, and freedom for all. Let us continue to advocate for dialogue, mutual respect, and efforts toward a future where every individual, regardless of nationality or identity, can live in peace and security. #Solidarity #Palestine #HumanitarianCrisis #HumanRights #InternationalDayOfSolidarity #UNRWA

We need investment for refugees to return in dignity and safety. Any returns by Syrian refugees must be truly voluntary and informed, with Syrians themselves making decisions about their future, writes Rasha Muhrez, MBA, Save the Children’s Syria response director in the EUobserver, reflecting on Syria’s future at a turning point. The international community, including the European Union, now faces a historic moment — an opportunity to re-engage, to recommit, and to invest in the recovery of Syria. They need to ensure that this turning point becomes the beginning of a new chapter — one of hope, opportunity, and dignity. https://lnkd.in/eCWBSGdt

This is UNRWA🩸 Another Friday morning, 441 Days of war and 100 Hostages are still in GAZA for 4️⃣4️⃣1️⃣ Days‼️ Watching the news and not believing that this is the world I’m living in 🤯 For those of you that haven’t heard about UNRWA, The Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East. UNRWA was established in 1949 to provide assistance, protection, and humanitarian services to Palestinian refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip,Its services include: • Education • Healthcare • Social services • Infrastructure improvement • Emergency relief during crises On October 7 ,those same ”UNRWA HUMANITARIAN ” are the ones who actively participated in the Horrific massacre and kidnapping of hundreds Israelis 🩸🩸🩸 Apparently the same Teachers/ social workers and what not ,were also #HAMAS terrorists and cold blooded killers ‼️ And now when 🇮🇱 is actively acting to pass The UNRWA Termination Act, 2024 A law that stipulates that: “No state authority, including bodies or individuals performing public functions under the law, shall engage in any contact with UNRWA or its representatives.” The UN General Assembly 🇺🇳 with Antisemitic Norway 🇳🇴 leading the way, has overwhelmingly adopted a resolution against Israel , requesting an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague regarding Israeli legislation targeting UNRWA. Once again you can see that the sole focus is attacking Israel and undermining its right to defend its citizens. The UN continues with its terror supporting agendas and they are continuing to Be on the wrong side of the map and UNRWA is nothing but a “ WOLF IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING “‼️🩸🩸🩸 United Nations #bringthemhomenow
