Immediately following Hurricane Helene, we created Weisiger Group Cares — an employee assistance fund designed to provide financial assistance to employees who are facing challenging situations after a disaster or personal hardship. This fund was created as a part of our ongoing commitment to support our employees at work and in their personal lives. We invite you to join us by contributing to the Weisiger Group Cares Fund, amplifying our impact! Every dollar donated will be distributed to our employees living and working in our NC territory. Each contribution drives us to rebuild and strengthen our community. Weisiger Group Cares Fund: https://lnkd.in/g66pr5ME #CarolinaCat #WesternNC #WeBuildNC

Only 2% of the homes hit by Hurricane Helene in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina had a policy protecting them against catastrophic flooding, according to an analysis by Politico and E&E News. If you’re in a position to help, personally or professionally, please do. The rebuilding efforts will take years for so many impacted. Avoid donating money to non-profits with large overhead. Research local organizations that are in a position to get support to those in need quickly and efficiently. #nonprofit #community #america #insurance #financialservices #communitybanking

As we unite in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, let us duly note that not all were as fortunate following the disaster. An alarming number of our neighbours find themselves displaced or worse. Should you find yourself in a position to offer assistance, kindly consider extending your support. Unable to personally deliver supplies to those in dire need? Fear not! A substantial effect can still be made through the medium of financial aid. We humbly request that you contemplate donating, regardless of the sum, via a swift and secure wire transfer or through the following secure link: https://vist.ly/3chrj These contributions can dramatically alter someone's life, illuminating the dark tunnel of these exceedingly difficult times. Let's consolidate our efforts, stand resolute, and reconstruct with greater strength! Every single donation, no matter how minor, has a substantial impact and is greatly appreciated. #HurricaneBerylRelief #DonateNow #StandTogether

More adverse reports about FEMA's performance, as seen in this video and all the related comments that are attached. Definitely worth reviewing to get a sense as to how the country views this entire situation.

TRUTH about the disaster in North Carolina! Straight from #lawenforcement - DO NOT Donate To FEMA For Hurricane Helene Victims!! Listen then REPOST this EVERYWHERE!! “Please do not donate to FEMA. They are hindering a lot of what people are trying to accomplish out in the western part of the state.” “By now, everyone's heard about what's going on in the western part of Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, Florida, Georgia. Donate. Please donate what you can, try to find a nonprofit to donate to. Uh, church, local PD. A lot of those are taking donations, sheriff's departments. I know my department is running a bunch of stuff to the western part of the state to help donate, but please do not donate to FEMA. They are hindering a lot of what people are trying to accomplish out in the western part of the state.” “FEMA doesn't understand that these Appalachian people are built differently. I'm very familiar with them. They are not gonna stand by idly and have government officials tell them what to do. FEMA's playing a game of FAFO because free men don't ask for permission. Again, please donate and help these people out. They need us now more than ever.” #thinblueline #lawenforcement

Jeff Bezos’ foundation donated $5 million to the Coalition for Homeless in Florida. The coalition is dedicated to providing living necessities to Florida’s most vulnerable population, specifically shelter and providing programs for unhoused people. Trinette Nation, a member of the coalition, told Wesh 2 News reporter Dave McDaniel, "We are in the middle of an affordable housing crisis," and being able to provide these programs and services is huge for this community." This donation comes after an active hurricane season, which left thousands of unhoused Floridians with little shelter and resources. UPDATE - from a Down Home organizer in Watauga & Ashe counties: "I can’t even explain to you the work that’s happening. This is once in a lifetime stuff. They are reaching people that firefighters, emergency services haven’t been able to reach, finding ways to areas that haven’t been reached by officials, literally mapping out the county and establishing supply distribution lines that no one has been to yet. I don’t know how we'll tell the story of this... Incredible work is happening here." Rural folks know how to take care of each other. We're meeting needs and saving lives. If you aren't there on the ground, one of the best things you can do is make sure they have the resources they need. When you use this link to support Hurricane Helene recovery efforts, funds are distributed to local, community based, grassroots organizations where they are needed most. Donate now at dhnc.info/HurricaneDonate or at the link in the bio.
