👏🏽Motivational Monday👏🏽 We all want to be recognized when we do a great job – it’s just human nature. 👏🏽🥰 Recognition and celebrating our associates are also part of our Walmart culture but, not everyone likes recognition in the same way. Sometimes a simple 'thank you' or acknowledgement can go a long way in boosting someone's confidence and motivation. 🤝🏽 Others may truly feel appreciated when recognized in front of their peers, at a team meeting or with a celebration. 🥳 Some want certificates📜 or awards🏆, while others want added experiences, exposure or new opportunities. Do you know how your associates like to be recognized? Are you known for recognizing others for the great work they do? Our Walmart associates do an amazing job of Bringing Our Purpose to Life by helping to make Walmart the BEST place to shop and work! 🛒🛍 Make sure you are taking time regularly to connect with and recognize your associates. #YouBetterRecognize #BringingOurPurposeToLife #TeamWalmart #MotivationalMonday #BeGreat #OurAssociatesMakeTheDifference #BeInItToWinIt #SecretSauce
I really like the call out about knowing how people want to be recognized, as it can be very different depending on the person. One thing I like to do is use the feedback option in Workday, and send a recognition badge along with a nice message. I’ve found that people seem to really like getting a surprise message, and it makes their day.
No siempre el reconocimiento llega a las personas , qué verdaderamente se lo ha ganado,, pregunta, porqué, porqué muchas veces, el gerencial nos es honesto e integro,,
At our store small tokens of appreciation are not a belief of our store manager. " Like giving sugar to a diabetic, giving praise to an employee creates craving" love Walmarts ideals, wish they were drilled into managers. Glad I'm self motivated!
Good day Mr. Clark, As always, a great Motivational Monday message, thank you for sharing. I personally enjoy recognizing others for their hard and consistent work. I have a new family in the big island of Hawaii and EVERYONE has accepted me and my family with open arms/hearts. Being a “loud introvert” it takes me some time to open up, but I’m working on it. Once again, thank you for the message. -AL Ramirez
Great perspective. The part of this monday motivational speech that resonates with me is, just ask them. A person may be shy or extremely outspoken about how he/she may want their recognition. Another Monday motivational post that speaks in real-world processes for success with working towards team goals. Let's go, team Walmart 👏 💪 🙌 💙 🙏
Excellent advice. Often there is a "rote" way of acknowledging excellence, contributions, or a small job well done. I'm happy to be reminded to refresh the way I think about employee and co-worker recognition. Thank you Cedric!
Engagement means treating people the way they want to be treated, not how we ourselves want to be treated. Great message.
Well said Cedric Thanks for sharing this statement.

3moMy name is Sherry, my husband was Joe Sanders you previously worked with him at Sam’s Club. Joe was a special person he loved his family and his job and he loved the associates. He would always say “ what makes me know I’ve succeeded in my job is to see the associates be the best they can be. Not everyone is a CEO but everyone is important.” The love we have received from Sam’s has been because he believed in each and every person he worked with, from top to bottom. Once when Joe became a Market Manger he had a young club manger that made a mistake and Joe had to fire him. After couple of months he came into the club Joe was there and took him in the office. He started asking about his new job and how he was adjusting, then this young man stopped him and said I’m here to tell you something. “I loved working here and learned so much from you. When I walked out the door that day I was upset because I disappointed you and I’m sorry. Respect, teach, recognize, jump in and help even the robot sweeping the floors is very important , and Joe always wanted to make it fun! P.S. Joe learned that from you Cedric!
