At Operation Gateway, advocacy is at the core of all we do. We are staffed with Community Health Workers and one of the primary components of effective community health work is TRUST!!! How do you keep the flame of trust burning??? T R A N S P A R E N C Y Check out our year to date graphic. You will see how we use our resources. We have served 167 members and this is how the money spends!!! We are wide open with it because we love our community and we appreciate all of our partners. We do our best to connect with the case managers in the prison but they are short staffed and we work around by way of in reach process that OG COOP created in partnership with Brent Bailey at the Local Reentry Council and we also get community referrals from family members and other partners that provide services. We do what we have to do and CHWs are experts at figuring it out. IF YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW!!! We don’t just talk about “wraparound services,” we do this. Practical, tangible tactics!!! It’s only the beginning! #reentry #prisonreform #reformreentry #equity #access #impact #transparency #flyhighisaaccolemen #vayastrong #healthyopportunitiespilot #oghop #impacthealth #impactrecidivism #stigmaslayers #sdoh #minoritymentalhealthawarenessmonth #mentalhealthishealth

Hi I need your help! I work with multiple levels of government on housing and homelessness. My role is to empower and uplift the voices of lived experts and advocates into conversations with decision makers. A consistent challenge we have is that the staff and elected officials we work with really struggle to receive the wisdom they have asked for. They are already under a lot of pressure and so understandably struggle to not take advocacy and lived expertise personally. This is a huge issue as lived expertise is critical to help name gaps and the way government systems have harmed people. If staff don't have the tools to process and receive advocacy they will continue to replicate harmful ways of doing things. Do you know anyone writing or consulting in this area? I need a set of tools to help the government officials I work with unpack their bureaucrat fragility and separate themselves from the system enough that they can come to the table as a strategic partner. If you work in government, what has helped you be strategic about your positionality in relationship to systems of harm and advocacy? #livedexperience #advocacy #governmentinnovation #fragility #bureaucracy

Effective policy and community engagement are crucial in addressing health inequities. We are committed to advocating for policies that promote health and education equity. But this raises an important question: what comes first—policy change or on-the-ground action? On-the-ground action often brings immediate relief and demonstrates tangible benefits to the community, creating a strong case for policy change. Conversely, policy changes can create a framework that supports sustainable, long-term improvements. What do you think? Should we prioritise immediate, grassroots efforts to address urgent needs, or focus on driving policy changes to ensure systemic, lasting impact? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below. #Advocacy #HealthEquity #CommunityEngagement #PolicyChange #PartnersInProgress

As a social worker, my focus has always been on making a difference in the lives of children, especially those who face challenges and need support to thrive. My work involves creating safe environments where children can express themselves freely. I help connect families to essential services like education, healthcare, and counseling, ensuring every child has a chance to grow up healthy and secure. Whether it’s advocating for their rights, or addressing issues like trauma and neglect, my goal is to bring hope and opportunities to their lives. Every child deserves a bright future, and social workers are often the bridge to that better tomorrow. It’s fulfilling to be part of their journey toward stability, growth, and happiness. How can we work together to improve the lives of vulnerable children in our communities? #SocialWork #SupportingChildren #Advocacy #MakingADifference #ChildWelfare

Youth homelessness poses significant barriers to stable employment due to lack of documentation, discrimination, and support networks. Initiatives offering vocational training, wraparound services, and mentorship are crucial in providing homeless youth with skills and support needed for employment. Advocacy efforts are essential in addressing systemic issues. Together, these approaches can break down barriers and create pathways to employment for homeless youth. #YouthHomelessness #EmploymentOpportunities #VocationalTraining #SupportServices #Mentorship #Advocacy #BreakingBarriers #HomelessYouth #Empowerment

𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 – 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗲, 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 At AWARE, advocacy is at the heart of everything we do—helping Montanans live independent, empowered lives. Whether it’s supporting early childhood education, residential developmental disability and mental health care, or community-based outpatient mental and behavioral health services, our work depends on policies that reflect these priorities. 🗳️ Voting is one of the most powerful ways you can advocate. When you vote, you are making a statement about what matters—whether it’s support for mental health resources, sustainable community-based behavioral health programs, or the well-being of future generations. Take time to educate yourself about the issues and candidates—your informed vote can help shape the future of Montana and the lives of those we serve. 🚨 Our founder Neelam Heera - Shergill was on the BBC Late Show, sharing the story behind Cysters and the powerful "why" that drives us. 💬 💡 Our mission? To work ourselves out of existence. Why? Because in a perfect world: 👉 Health equity would be the norm. 👉 Everyone would understand their bodies and know when to seek support. 👉 Cultural misogyny would be a thing of the past. 👉 Marginalized groups wouldn’t be labeled as "hard to reach." At Cysters, we focus on education, advocacy, public awareness, and working alongside marginalized communities to create real change. But we can’t do it alone. We need funding to go to the right places, and for the work we do today to become unnecessary tomorrow. So, who's ready to help us shut down for good? 💥✊ #HealthEquity #Advocacy #Cysters #BreakingBarriers
