When Fordhall was saved from development in 2006 it was the start of a new revolution A revolution of communities saying 'we can do better' and 'we can do more' It was a revolution of people not just saying, but actually doing! Over the last 18 years I have met many incredible people and Deana Bamford is one of them. We both work on the We're Right Here campaign for a #CommunityPowerAct Deana is also fighting to save a building for her community. Just like land, buildings can have heart and they can change lives. Bricks and morta can be powerful too. Not just because of their history, but because of their potential to bring people together. There are many great examples including the many thousands of community owned shops and pubs that now exist, even bus companies, village halls and swimming pools too! The building in Coaville have a share offer and I urge you all to read it and invest if you can. Invest in the Coalville community. Invest to show that these places matter to us all. This building is a gallery, a counselling centre, an educational space, even a book publishers. More than this, it is a place that listens to and works with their community to be whatever they need it to be. It is empowered, and we can empower them to do more. #supporttherevolution #communityownership #communitypower #communitymatters #empower https://lnkd.in/ekJCVG46
