Decorum for Democracy There is no room for political violence or violent extremist rhetoric, threat of action or action in America. Be part of the solution. And if you're a violent extremism expert - consider how we too are contributing to the information space. It is important to bring attention to a problem, it is better to also offer a way forward. #violentextremism #UnitedStates #democracy #politicalviolence #VE #PVE
Violence isn’t the answer, but we can help. Contact the RESTORE Help Line at (412) 756-3643 or help@restore-project.org if you are in touch with someone in Southwestern Pennsylvania who: 🚩Has high levels of hate and anger directed towards abstract entities or entire groups of people 🚩Shows signs of conspiratorial thinking pointing to evidence from unreliable media sources 🚩May be unwilling or unable to discuss their views while expressing disdain towards certain groups 🚩Is increasingly isolating themselves from family and/or friends 🚩Seems to be convinced that everyone is against them and needs to defend themselves 🚩Simultaneously may have very low self-esteem and speaks about themselves in disparaging ways

The idea that villains are born is a misconception. In reality, they are shaped by their circumstances and the society they live in 🌎. The struggles, injustices, and traumas they face can transform them into individuals who seek revenge or harm others 🤕. Society's neglect, discrimination, and oppression can create an environment where individuals feel forced to adopt harmful behaviors to survive or cope 💔. It's a reminder that we must acknowledge the role we play in perpetuating systems that harm others and work towards creating a more compassionate and equitable world 🌟. By recognizing the complexities of villainy, we can begin to address the root causes of harmful behavior and work towards redemption and rehabilitation 🔄. Let's strive to create a society that fosters empathy, understanding, and support for all individuals, rather than perpetuating harmful stereotypes and stigma 🌈. #VillainsAreMade #SocietyShapesUs #EmpathyOverStigma #CompassionInAction #RedemptionOverPunishment #AddressingRootCauses #BreakingCyclesOfHarm #CreatingABetterWorld #VillainyIsComplex #RehabilitationOverPunishment #SocietyReform #EmpathyMatters #BreakingStigmas

📢 "For seven generations, children were placed in those schools..." In a powerful reflection, Murray Sinclair sheds light on the profound and lasting impact of the residential school system. With nearly 40% of living survivors reporting injuries, the consequences of this historical trauma extend far beyond the classroom, affecting generations. Murray emphasizes the urgency of acknowledging the harm inflicted not only on Indigenous children in residential schools but also those in public schools, who faced systemic messaging of inferiority. Let’s continue the conversation around reconciliation and healing. #Reconciliation #MurraySinclair #TruthAndReconciliation #IndigenousRights #Healing #ResidentialSchools #NDTR

Through Yoorrook Justice Commission, in submissions and at hearings, people have shared truths that expose the devastating impacts of colonisation to First Peoples, from land dispossession to Stolen Generations, to systemic racism in education, health and child protection. Non-First Nations witnesses have acknowledged historical wrongs and Yoorrook has documented the impact of intergenerational trauma, highlighting how policies continue to shape present realities. In 2025, Yoorrook will continue to share the truths gathered over the past three years and make recommendations to reform the systems which continue to cause harm and injustice to First Peoples. Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the U.S. and symbolizes the ongoing pursuit of civil rights as well as the battle against systemic inequalities—a struggle that resonates deeply with our mission. At Crossroads, we recognize how substance use disorders (SUDs) disproportionately affect marginalized communities, which are often intensified by economic disparities and limited healthcare access. That's why our commitment to diversity and inclusion stands firm. We are dedicated to providing compassionate, thorough care to those often overlooked. This Juneteenth, we recommit to creating an environment where every recovery journey is supported, recognizing the unique challenges faced. #juneteenth #healthequity
