Today, November 20th, World Children’s Day is celebrated. The day marks the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child (1959) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989). In 2024, #WorldChildrensDay calls on adults to listen to the future. By listening to children, we can fulfill their right to self-expression, understand their ideas for a better world, and include their priorities in our actions today. Children's rights are #humanrights and they are non-negotiable. Unfortunately, in many places, they are ignored, misunderstood, even denied or attacked. World Children’s Day provides an opportunity to focus on the issues that matter most to children. Here are some tops on how you can participate in Children's Day: - Join local events - Organize your own event at school, daycare, or hobby group - Support #UNICEF or other children's organizations - Talk with children #WorldChildrensDay2024 #childrenrights #sustainabilityatuniversities

World Children's Day is celebrated on November 20th to mark the adoption of two important documents by the United Nations: The Declaration of the Rights of the Child (1959) The Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) The day focuses on advocating, promoting, and celebrating children's rights, which lead to dialogues and actions that build a better world for children. The day emphasizes the importance of listening to children's voices, understanding their ideas for a better world, and including their priorities in actions today. It also highlights the challenges children face, such as poverty, lack of education, and healthcare, and calls for global commitment to protect and support children's rights. In essence, the day serves as a reminder of the importance of fostering an environment where every child can grow, learn, and thrive in safety and happiness. #WorldChildrensDay #ProtectChildrensRights #ForEveryChildEveryRight #4ABetterWorld

Happy Universal Children's Day, 2024. Children are not just our future, they are our present and their rights as well as voices are more important than ever. As we celebrate the Universal Children's Day 2024, let us ponder upon this year's strong theme: "Listen. Reflect and Engage." - Listen: Actually hear what children say about their dreams, fears, and hopes. - Reflect on their views and the challenges they face in today's world. - Engage in meaningful ways for their protection and building a safe, healthy, and inclusive world. At Compassion Africa Initiative, every day is a celebration of empowerment for a child. This day reminds us that fostering respect, dignity, and opportunity for children isn't just a duty but a shared responsibility. How to join the conversation? -Advocate for child rights. -Volunteer your time to mentor or support a child. -Create places where children can feel seen, heard, and valued. Let's ensure that every child knows their voice counts and their future is bright. #UniversalChildrensDay #UNICEF

Today, children’s rights are misunderstood and too often ignored. In a world where children should be safe, educated, and empowered, many are instead stripped of their basic rights due to war, poverty, climate change, and exploitation. These injustices leave children vulnerable to the darkest forms of harm, including modern slavery. At Ride For Freedom, we believe in standing up for children’s rights. Through our Schools Programme, advocacy and working within our communities, we work with young advocates to raise awareness, champion safety, and ensure their voices are heard. Children deserve more than protection—they deserve participation. By including them in discussions, valuing their opinions, and learning alongside them, we create a future shaped by empathy, justice, and equality. This World Children’s Day, let’s renew our commitment to uphold children’s rights. Let’s tune into tomorrow's voices, not disregard it. Let's build a world where every child is free, safe, and empowered to dream. #WorldChildrensDay #RideForFreedom #EndModernSlavery #ChildrensRights #ListenToTheFutureLeaders #EmpowerdToDream #HumanRights #Education #Awareness #SecurePath #EndExpoitation

👧 Building Strong Foundations for Our Children 🧒 Children are not just our future—they are our present. To build a resilient and inclusive community, we must start with them. They are the foundation of our society, and this foundation must be nurtured with strong values. At the Vidhi Adhikar Foundation, we believe in empowering children with socio-emotional learning and raising their consciousness about their well-being. While we work to prevent abuse and protect children, it is equally important to instill in them the values of equality, equity, and fraternity. When children grow up with these principles, they become the torchbearers of a stronger, more compassionate society. Together, we are stronger. Collectively, we are more efficient. And with shared values, we become truly human. Let’s build a community that thrives on empathy, fairness, and unity—starting with our children! #ChildEmpowerment #EqualityForAll #FraternityMatters #SafeChildhood #EmpathyAndKindness #KnowYourRights #BuildingStrongCommunities #InclusiveFuture #StopViolence #VidhiAdhikarFoundation "Strong Values, Safer Futures—Empowering Children Today for a Better Tomorrow!"

Happy International Boy Child Day! Today, we celebrate and acknowledge the importance of raising our boys with care, attention, and love. Having worked on a few personal and group projects focused on the boy child and youths, I've seen firsthand how often their unique needs and challenges are overlooked. It's crucial to remember that boys need as much guidance and support as girls. Our society cannot thrive if we continue to neglect the boy child. Too often, we prepare women for unprepared men, perpetuating a cycle that benefits no one. Let's commit to raising our boys well. Teach them to be humane, responsible, kind, and respectful to everyone. Encourage them to practice good personal hygiene and embrace domestic responsibilities. By doing so, we nurture future men who are compassionate, respectful, and well-rounded. Together, we can break the cycle and create a better world for all. Theodore Roosevelt said; "do what you can, with what you have, where you are. Dear parents, raise your boys well! Happy International Boy Child Day! PS: The video is one of my personal projects I did 2 years ago🙆, from planning to execution. #HappyInternationalBoyChildDay #ABetterFuture #ProjectManagement #CommunityDevelopment

Why it is important to support single mothers in financial hardship? Social Support -> Lack of adequate support systems, causing isolation. Health and Wellbeing -> Negative impact on physical and mental health due to cumulative stress. Educational and Career Advancement -> Limited opportunities for further education and career progression. Not to forget that private donors help organizations diversify their funding sources and provide a reliable support to single mothers in need.
💜In whatever shape or form, family is the first and most important bond in our life. 👩👧👧At Πρώτα το Παιδί - Children First, single-parent families are those which we most often encounter, since single-mother households make up 75% of the families that we support. This is why we created the Girls Empowering Girls initiative, a special program to support our single mothers and our girls.
