Where it all began! I can still hardly believe it, but this picture was taken 7 years ago on our FIRST EVER market event. So much has changed since then, life, family, geography, roles within the business, moulds, recipes, multiple awards and lots of happy customers. Sitting here celebrating our 7th Birthday 🎂 as Freedom Chocolate, I'm filled with thankfulness. Like many businesses, there's been high hopes, long hours, stress, worry, fear, lockdowns, overwhelm, surprises and successes - and not all in that order. But there has also been a lot of growth and much of that in me! I never intended to be a part of the 'front of house' of the business. I wanted to stay hidden and just play a supportive role. Lockdowns changed that. I attended my first online networking event at the end of November 2020 and I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me and the idea of 'pitching' crippled me. All this just added to my lack of self worth, but I had to invest in myself 'for the business' and 'for the family', so that's what I did - and the journey this business has taken me on personally has been amazing! I have learned, grown and developed so much that I hardly recognise that younger me in the picture. Every day now, I do things that she never thought she could possibly do. I have developed friendships and support networks with some of the most amazing people through our business. And I'm learning through experience that I am actually quite a capable person - I just need to believe it! We still have a ways to go for our business to reach our big goals, but every day we are getting closer to that and spreading joy along the way.
