Did you know that soil is alive? Beneath our feet lies a bustling world of microbes that play a pivotal role in regenerating the land. These tiny organisms work tirelessly to break down organic matter, cycle nutrients, and even communicate with plant roots through a process called rhizophagy. In regenerative agriculture, we prioritize the health of soil microbes by minimizing tillage, avoiding harmful chemicals, and maintaining ground cover. Healthy microbes mean healthier plants, richer nutrients in your food, and a more resilient ecosystem. This is the foundation of what we do at Etta Hills Farm. Our focus on soil health doesn’t just grow food—it regenerates the land for future generations. Learn more about how we’re transforming agriculture one field at a time at www.ettahillsfarm.com.

The Power of Soil Aggregation in Regenerative Agriculture Did you know that healthy soil is the foundation of regenerative agriculture? Soil aggregation—when soil particles bind together into clusters—is a key factor in creating thriving ecosystems. These aggregates improve water infiltration, reduce erosion, and provide the perfect habitat for essential microbes and roots. In regenerative farming, we focus on building soil aggregation through practices like adaptive grazing and cover cropping. These methods enhance root exudates and microbial activity, creating biological “glue” that holds soil together. The result? Healthier plants, better water retention, and more nutrient-dense food. ✨ Healthy soil = healthy food = a healthier planet! ✨ Experience the difference of regenerative practices at Etta Hills Farm. Shop local, nutrient-dense foods at www.ettahillsfarm.com and taste the power of healthy soil. #RegenerativeAgriculture #HealthySoil #SoilHealth #WaterRetention #NutrientDense #SupportLocalFarms #EttaHillsFarm

🌿 Diversity is the Secret to Thriving Ecosystems 🌾 In nature, diversity creates strength, balance, and resilience. Regenerative agriculture takes this lesson to heart by fostering diverse plant species in pastures and fields. Here’s why plant diversity is so vital: 🌱 Healthier soil. Diverse plants produce a variety of root exudates, feeding soil microbes and improving soil structure. 🐝 Support for pollinators. A range of flowers provides year-round food for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. 🌧️ Better water retention. Different root systems work together to improve water infiltration and retention in the soil. 💚 Nutrient-rich food. Diverse forages lead to healthier livestock and more nutrient-dense meat, eggs, and dairy for your table. Every plant in a regenerative system has a purpose, contributing to a thriving ecosystem. 🌍 Taste the difference diversity makes. Congress: Support regenerative agriculture – a key solution for our climate, health, and water crises! This year, Congress will write our next farm bill, shaping the next 5-7 years of American agriculture policy. Governing everything from the way our food is produced, to how it is distributed and consumed, the farm bill determines the entirety of our food and ag system, but currently it supports industrial agriculture practices that prioritize commodities over communities. We think it’s time for a change. Soil is our common ground and our common good, so we are calling on Congress to support regenerative agriculture in the farm bill. Regenerative agriculture combines Indigenous knowledge, holistic management, and cutting edge science to work within the context of natural systems. It means healthier soils growing healthier foods, stronger local communities, more profitable regional economies, and more resilient environments. Rotational grazing is key, but to truly regenerate the land, we take it a step further with Adaptive Management Grazing (AMP Grazing). 🌱 At Etta Hills Farm, we rotate livestock based on daily observations and our specific context: ✅ Available forage biomass ✅ Animal condition and nutrition needs ✅ Time of day and weather ✅ Farm goals and soil health needs This adaptive approach ensures the land has time to rest and regenerate while providing the best for our animals. AMP grazing allows us to respond to nature rather than fight against it. 🌾 The benefits? 🪱 Thriving soil microbes and nutrient cycling. 🌾 Deeper plant roots that improve water retention. 🐄 Healthier livestock grazing on fresh, nutrient-dense forage. Regenerative agriculture practices like AMP grazing are restoring the land and improving food quality for your family. Learn more about how we manage our pastures at www.ettahillsfarm.com. #AMPGrazing #AdaptiveManagement #RegenerativeAgriculture #HealthySoil #EttaHillsFarm

As a food production company, we know that the land farmers work on is so important. They care for it to ensure the soil, water, air, and all living things stay healthy. Did you know❓ Farmers use a special method called “regenerative agriculture” to do this. This method is known as a ‘climate-smart’ way of farming because it: 🌾Helps the land by improving soil health ⛈️Fights climate change by absorbing greenhouse gases 🐓Increases biodiversity — which means lots of different plants and animals can live and grow. If you have your own ‘sustainability hero’ child at home, they may love to learn more about regenerative agriculture! Support their learning by participating in our FREE Future Farmer Mission partnership with Earth Rangers. Learn more about how to join the mission in our blog: https://ow.ly/erB650SMgwc

Exciting News from Horns & Hooves Regenerative Grazing! Did you know we’re losing healthy soil at an alarming rate, and with it, the foundation of our food systems? But there’s hope. Animals, when managed regeneratively, can play a critical role in restoring soil health and making the land more productive. That’s why we're starting Horns & Hooves—to be part of the solution. By applying regenerative practices, we help improve soil and pasture quality without over-relying on mechanical or chemical methods, paving the way for healthier food and a sustainable future. So, what is regenerative grazing? Think of it like rotating your favorite sneakers. If you wear the same pair every single day, they’ll wear out quickly and they will stink! But if you switch between pairs, each gets a break, lasts longer, and stays in better shape. In regenerative grazing, animals are rotated to different areas every few days, giving grass a long time to rest and grow back stronger. This simple practice rejuvenates soil, boosts plant growth, and creates a healthier ecosystem—naturally. We’re kicking off our journey in partnership with TRUC Farm (www.trucfarm.com), accelerating the transformation of over 100 acres of clear-cut land into thriving, grazeable pasture without chemicals or lots of machinery. This will support their growing grass-fed beef operation and showcase the power of regenerative practices in action. We can’t wait to share more updates as we ramp up our Grazing as a Service and Custom Grazing offerings using small ruminants (goats and sheep). Follow us to join our journey in restoring soil health, improving pastureland, and building a healthier food system—one graze at a time. #RegenerativeGrazing #HealthySoil #SustainableFarming #GrazingAsAService #MakeFoodHealthyAgain Jordan Greene, Steven Simms P.S. If you're local to the Atlanta metro, check out TRUC Farm for local grass-fed beef.
