Pipeline and revenue planning: Every new Marketing leader's "favorite" thing to do... that they probably have never actually done before. There's never enough clean data to go off of. You're planning against targets that were set and given to you by another department. And the math never maths correctly. What's not to like about this process? A whole lot. But it's on us Marketers to improve it. Adam Goyette, Emily Kramer, and Jeff Ignacio joined me on this week’s episode of The Proof Point. They schooled me on why most GTM leaders are bad at math, what goes into setting more realistic pipeline/revenue targets, and how to build your revenue model. If you've been listening along so far - you've probably caught onto the intro format for every episode. I let one guest go scorched earth on the episode topic to kick us off. None of it's pre-rehearsed. And I don't have any idea what the lucky guest is going to say. This is the funniest intro so far. Emily stole the show. Probably could have stopped recording and ended the episode after she got off her soapbox. Check it out wherever you listen to your podcasts.

Marketing is easy. All you have to do is figure out who's shopping for your product, point your sales team at them, and wish them luck on closing the deal. Yeah, no. We all have spent WAY too much time, energy and dollars on surfacing intent data, and not nearly enough time defining what your best-fit customers look like. It's about time we get back to the basics. I had the pleasure of spending time with Adam Schoenfeld, Trinity Nguyen💎, and Mark Huber on this week's episode of The Proof Point to dig into common misconceptions around defining your TAM, ICP, and best-fit customers. Nothing beats the fundamentals. Get this wherever you listen to your podcasts!

Imagine being told you need to build a house, and that’s it. No blueprint. No budget. No preference. Just, “Build a house.” You’d feel pretty lost right? That’s kind of what it feels like when someone tells you to automate. It feels crucially important, but you don’t know where to start. I think there are 4 types of tasks you can automate: 1/ Common, easily repeatable tasks 2/ Infrequent tasks that have a high level of effort to do 3/ Tasks that require specific timing 4/ Tasks that you cannot forget to do Here are examples of each: 1/ Emailing your list when a new podcast episode is out 2/ Gathering and summarizing transcripts for a yearly retrospective podcast episode. 3/ Giving access to a membership area when a new customer pays 4/ Sending reminders and recording info to guests With this little framework, what’s something you can automate this week?

I’m absolutely obsessed with podcasts. They’re my go-to for entertainment during workouts and drives, and they expose me to wild thoughts, fresh opinions, and ideas I’d never stumble upon otherwise. One of my all-time favorites is “My First Million” with Shaan Puri and Sam Parr. These guys brainstorm business ideas every week, and it’s pure gold. Seriously, give this episode a listen and tell me what you think. https://lnkd.in/gUkCgWG4

It’s nearly the end of Q1! And that means checking back in with where you are vs. where you thought you’d be with 2024. At the end of last year we did an episode all about planning for 2024 and how to properly goal set, and it was one of our most popular podcasts ever. But new year’s goals are as important on a random day in March as they are on Jan 1st! And I started to really feel like I needed a check-in. So, I’ve recorded a 3-month check-in episode all about exactly how to check back in, and reset on your yearly goals as well as how to properly set monthly & quarterly goals that get you closer to those big aims. It actually felt so cathartic to record, I didn’t realise how much I needed it. We cover... 🎙 How to turn your goals into actions 🎙 Why busy-ness does not equal productivity 🎙 How to properly goal-set for your quarter in under 30 minutes You can watch or listen to the episode by searching 'Working Hard, Hardly Working' on all platforms or clicking here: https://lnkd.in/eakRfeCQ #WorkingHardPodcast
