City of Victor Harbor’s Post

It doesn't seem right for the term "Community" to be used with this proposal. Sure, PPPs can be good, but in this case the proposal is to drop a tavern in the heart of our community sporting hub, directly competing with our well established, volunteer led sports clubs, amongst education facilities and almost surely impacting other established operations elsewhere in town. And, there's nothing suggesting this PPP is going to fully counter any rate rise to pay for it.... because it won't. Ratepayers will still pay more rates as a result, and at a time they cannot afford to. Sadly, the financial burden won't be the only cost to the community under this proposal. I'm keen to see if the City of Victor Harbor blocks me/my feedback in the same manner the Mayor just has!
