City Cancer Challenge’s Post

Oncology navigators are champions for patients and families affected by cancer, ensuring that no one faces the challenges of cancer alone. Their commitment bridges gaps in care, educates patients and caregivers, connects them with essential support services, and advocates for the best possible outcomes. Today, we celebrate the first #NationalNavigatorDay, honouring these dedicated professionals for their unwavering resolve to improve patient outcomes and reduce disparities in care. This recognition deserves to resonate globally and not only in the US. At C/Can, we are committed to improving patient navigation services across our network. In León, Mexico, local leaders are developing a Breast Cancer Patient Navigation Programme to enhance care coordination for women with suspected or confirmed breast cancer in Guanajuato State. This project will combine global best practices with local insights to support patients throughout their journey. Supported by the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and the INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF NURSES IN CANCER CARE INC (ISNCC), the initiative will involve 21 healthcare institutions and is backed by Global Focus on Cancer (US charitable organisation supported by donations from Eli Lilly and Company). #BreastCancer #CancerPatient #Oncology

I support the initiative and believe that it can contribute to better personal decision-making by patients, medical staff and family members. It will also improve social coping with cancer.
