If you’re a manager scared of failing and letting people down... You're not alone. Over 75% of people experience imposter thinking and it can get stronger when you step into people management. Here’s 3 mindset shifts that will help you shift that thinking 👇🏻 1️⃣ “It’s not my job to know everything - it’s my job to help my team use their strengths” Being a manager doesn’t mean you have to be the expert. Focus on how you can leverage your teams strengths so they can take the lead. 2️⃣ “I’m here to help my team grow, not do everything for them” Encourage your team to experiment and fail. People grow when they are allowed to try new things without fear of judgement. 3️⃣ “I’m here to coach, not fix everything. Focus on coaching, not solving. Rather than coming up with all of the solutions, ask the right questions, and let them find their own answers. Your team doesn’t need you to be perfect, the expert, or the fixer. Your team need you to create a space where they can use their strengths and expertise to do great work. When you let go of needing to be the ‘perfect leader,’ you’ll actually start creating a high performing team - and quieten the imposter thinking spiralling in your brain! I've also created a freebie to support you - 'The Imposter Survival Guide - 5 Strategies to Breakthrough Self Doubt As A Leader' If you want to grab a copy, comment 'Guide' below and I'll send you the link. One Overlooked Step to Becoming a Great Manager. Excelling at managing a team effectively can seem overwhelming, but the truth is that some of the best tools for success are already within you! Self-discovery is the foundation for becoming more impactful. It's about understanding your strengths (think of being a natural motivator or strategic mastermind) and weaknesses (maybe micromanaging or struggling with public speaking). But it doesn't stop there. Research by Zenger Folkman (Do Great Leaders Really Need Self-Awareness?) shows that self-aware leaders are rated 79% more effective by their teams. That's a massive difference! Why? Because self-aware leaders can leverage their strengths for maximum impact and actively work on their weaknesses. They can tailor their communication styles, delegate effectively, and create a more positive work environment for everyone. So, which practical steps you can take to improve yourself? 1. Embrace Self-Discovery: Don't just skim the surface! Personality assessments like DISC and MBTI can provide valuable insights, but they're just the beginning. Reflect on real-life situations where your strengths shone through, and identify areas where you could have done better. 2. Seek Feedback: Don't be afraid of 360 feedback. Gather anonymous feedback from colleagues, superiors, and direct reports. This can reveal blind spots and areas for improvement you might not have noticed on your own. 3. (CRITICAL) Commit to Growth: Self-discovery is just the first step. The real magic happens when you commit to working on leveraging your strengths and working on your weaknesses. Take a course, hire a coach, or find a mentor – invest in your growth as a leader! Ready to embark on your leadership self-discovery journey? Let me know in the comments below! I'm happy to share some resources to get you started. P.S. Check out our Leadership Development Program (link in the comments below) for a comprehensive approach to becoming the best manager and leader you can be. #leadershipdevelopment #selfawareness #coaching #management #leadership

❓ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤? 💡Your #mindset plays a crucial role in how you navigate challenges, make decisions, and lead others. Robert Kegan, a renowned developmental psychologist, introduced a powerful framework to understand the evolution of our thinking and #leadership through three key stages: 1️⃣ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝 In this stage, we are shaped by societal norms, external expectations, and authority figures. We seek approval and validation from others, often conforming to the beliefs and values of those around us. Leaders at this stage may struggle with independent decision-making, relying heavily on group identity for direction. 2️⃣ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝 As we evolve, we begin to define our own beliefs, values, and goals. We become more autonomous, comfortable taking ownership of our decisions, and driven by internal #motivation. Leaders here are more self-directed, aligning actions with their personal vision and principles. 3️⃣ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝 At the highest stage, we question our own beliefs and assumptions, embracing complexity and multiple perspectives. Leaders at this level thrive in ambiguity, innovating and adapting as they continuously evolve their approach. Our founder Silvia Bottini ☆ Executive and Team Coach ☆ says that understanding these stages is not only insightful for personal development but also for leadership growth. And here is why: 👉 As a leader, knowing which mindset you operate from allows you to better navigate challenges, connect with your #teams, and drive transformation in yourself and your organization. 👉 Moreover, you can move toward greater self-awareness, autonomy, and adaptability, facilitating your personal and professional growth. 📈 An important part of the work that Silvia does with #executives, is to help them transition from a socialized mind—where they are more focused on fitting in and external validation—to a self-authoring mind—where they define their own path and leadership style. For those at the self-transforming level, the coaching might focus on refining their ability to embrace complexity, integrate multiple viewpoints, and drive innovation. ❔ Which mindset resonates most with you? We'd love to hear your thoughts — 📥 drop a comment below and share your perspective! Let’s start a conversation about how we can continue evolving as leaders. #mindset #work #leaders #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipdevelopmentcoaching #leadershipcoach #executivecoach #executivecoaching #personalgrowth #personaldevelopment

If you want the easy way out, well you'll be the same person in 10 years time. Decision making is critical in leadership. It defines you as an individual and as a leader in front of your team and most importantly, yourself. Follow these steps to grow as a leader on a daily basis. 1. Prepare yourself: Understand the problem thoroughly in front of you and list out all the viable solutions (no matter how ambitious). This allows your mind to start thinking from perspectives it normally wouldn't. This step takes you outside the box. 2. Rank the solutions: Whilst you are listing out all the solutions for the problem, there will be one that sticks out for you as a preferred one. That goes at the top of the list as the easiest solution and the most difficult solution to the bottom of the list. 3. Struggle: No pain no gain right. When you get to this step, you need to choose a solution to execute to solve your problem. You will pick the most difficult one on the list. The reason you do this is because whilst executing it, you will force yourself to learn new skills and carry out tasks outside your comfort zone. You are going to grow! 4. Grow: Once you achieve the goal, you have gained a ton of new skills, new thought processes, new perspectives, and new mindsets. This is growth gold! Imagine applying this to the smallest of problems you face daily and emerging as a better leader than you were when you left home that morning. #decisionmaking #leadershipdevelopment --------------------------------------------------------- Hi, my name is Imran and I am a leadership coach focusing on improving leadership within organisations by focusing on employee motivation and servant leadership. Leaders, hear from our Team Coach Bernadette Rothwell on how to... 🚀 Take some of the pressure off yourself! 🚀 Practice active listening and encourage your team to do the same! 🚀 Gain fresh insights from those around you! Effective leadership means creating space for everyone to contribute, not just the loudest or most senior voices. Here’s a simple exercise you can try that breaks common habits of interrupting and rushing through conversations: ❶ Present a challenge or question to your team in 5-10 minutes. ❷ Ask each team member to share their thoughts, feelings, and ideas giving them two to three minutes each. Time it. No interruptions from you or others. Allow each person to think and speak fully. ❸ As the leader, ask any clarifying questions to individuals—don’t let it turn into a group discussion. ❹ Reflect on your observations, insights, and actions from what you’ve heard to the whole room. 💫This process encourages patience and mindful listening, breaking the habit of jumping in and interrupting at the expense of letting others fully share their ideas. It allows others the space to fully think and contribute, which often leads to richer, more thoughtful insights. Enjoy the process! We would love to hear about any insights you gain from this activity! #TeamCoaching #Leadership #TeamBuilding #ActiveListening #LeadershipDevelopment #Coaching #InclusiveLeadership #TeamCulture #CommunicationSkills #MindfulLeadership #Empowerment #TeamSuccess #LeadershipTips ✨🎯 At Mélange Coaching, we work with leaders and teams so that they can be their very best https://lnkd.in/eQdVUt4N ✨🎯 We aspire to transform leadership and team potential in UK industry, to unleash organisational and societal betterment: better productivity, better outcomes and greater care and joy into the art of leading. Most managers think they're great leaders. But the truth is—𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠. And in today’s workplace, 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 is failing. If you’re stuck in the manager mindset—fixing problems, giving orders, and tracking metrics—𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭. Employees don’t want a taskmaster. They want a coach.
