The Residential Outdoor Education (Wales) Bill, proposing a funded entitlement for children in Wales, is continuing its journey through the Senedd, and the debate in the Senedd itself will happen In April. Prior to that, the committees responsible for scrutinising the proposals will be reporting their recommendations soon, and, whatever the outcome, the Bill has raised the profile of outdoor education/learning significantly. It is a day to look within ourselves to acknowledge and share the unique abundance in each of our lives: How am I showing up for my neighbors today? How can I challenge attitudes of scarcity, when I know that our community has each other's backs? What can I do today to make sure my neighbors know they can count on our community safety net? 2024 is the hungriest year our community has ever seen. CEAP is on track for a record amount of food served as we see the highest need for our Food Market in our 52-year history. At the same time, we know that many neighbors face barriers - like mobility challenges and lack of access to transportation – that prevent them from reaching CEAP’s doors. KFC Foundation: Kentucky Fried Wishes GRANTS FOR IMPROVING HEALTH AND WELL-BEING Application deadline: May 1 to May 31, 2024 for the upcoming application window (“cycle”), focused on health and well-being. Grant amount: Up to $10,000 Description: Through the Kentucky Fried Wishes program, the KFC Foundation will award up to $1 million total to 100 nonprofit organizations annually in the United States and Puerto Rico. 25 grants will be awarded per quarterly cycle. The next quarterly cycle for 2024 focuses on improving health and well-being, including efforts such as mobile health clinic creation, playground improvements, domestic violence shelter upgrades, and accommodations for individuals with disabilities; Eligible nonprofit organizations must operate on the local level (or be an affiliate or chapter of a larger organization that operates locally) and directly benefit their surrounding community. Puerto Rico-based nonprofits with 501(c)(3) who meet other eligibility requirements can apply.
