Building networks, exchanging knowledge and listening to our stakeholders’ views on sustainability topics has become a December tradition for us. So we were delighted to welcome a diverse range of engaging speakers and panelists and over 160 guests to our virtual studio for the Coca-Cola Stakeholder Forum 2024. Our focus this year was how we can harness the circular economy for packaging – particularly through innovation and collaboration. And we gained many valuable insights from our lively discussions and breakout sessions. In his closing remarks, our CEO Zoran Bogdanovic said: “Each year, we gather everyone together for our annual Stakeholders’ Forum because we genuinely want to talk with and listen to the views of our external partners. We had lively and engaging discussions on how we can transition to a circular economy for packaging. Together we talked about the challenges and the opportunities – and the role that collaboration and innovation can play in helping us to achieve our goals. These will help shape our strategies as we continue our journey to open up a more sustainable future.” Thanks to everyone who made this year’s Forum so interesting and relevant! #circularpackagingeconomy #sustainability Read more: bit.ly/4gF21fQ

It was a pleasure to contribute our marketing and insights expertise to enrich The Coca-Cola HBC Stakeholder Forum 2024 on “Harnessing the Circular Economy for Packaging”. Mark Fisher, Partner with the Sustainable Transformation Practice, joined the event to give a talk on ‘The Circularity Revolution and Consumers: What they say and what they do’. Some of the key takeaways from Mark’s talk can be explored in Kantar’s new “Bridging the Gap: Infusing the value-action gap into sustainability segmentation report”, which explains how to understand the gap between consumers’ values and actions when it comes to sustainability. Hear from Ms. Marcela Gomar, Sustainability, Wellbeing & Social Impact Manager of Mondelēz International., as she presents on “Panel Discussion : Brand Owners Sustainable Packaging Strategy, Challenges & Demand for Future Packaging” at the Sustainable Flexible Packaging LATAM conference (12-13 November 2024, Mexico City). The flexible packaging market in Latin America is transforming due to a convergence of factors and trends. The industry is driven by the increasing demand for convenient, lightweight packaging solutions and a growing emphasis on sustainability. Both consumers and businesses are pushing for #ecofriendly, #recyclable, and #biodegradable materials, reflecting the region's commitment to responsible #packaging. Additionally, the #food and #beverage industry and the e-commerce sector's growth in Latin America significantly propels the flexible packaging market forward. Despite the rise in flexible packaging, traditional recycling faces challenges due to material diversity (PE, PP, PET, etc.). Advanced recycling and #monomaterial solutions are being explored, alongside #ecodesign guidelines for flexible packaging. Is #advancedrecycling the solution for flexible packaging? Or the shift to #monomaterials solutions gaining popularity? What is the eco-design guidelines for flexible packaging? The above are just some of the key issues that will be examined at CMT's Sustainable Flexible Packaging LATAM to be held in Mexico City on 12-13 November 2024. CMT’s Sustainable Flexible Packaging LATAM, supported by ECOCE, is held back-to-back with our 20th LAPET series – Circular Plastics Packaging LATAM on 13-14 Nov 2024 in the same venue! 📢 Optional Site Visit: IDRG (International Disposal Recycling Group) on 14th November | (13:00 – 18:30 hrs.) 📅Access the agenda here: https://lnkd.in/gsn7x6WB ⏰Access your discounted pass! Excited to share that I'm officially partnering with the Sustainable Packaging Summit 2024 in Amsterdam on November 12th-13th. It's an event that's been on my radar for ages, and I'm thrilled dates finally align for me to attend this year. What makes the event special is its action-oriented focus. From meaningful dialogues to innovative solutions, it's all about driving impact. A summit, not a conference—where every attendee is an active participant. And it’s not just about talking the talk when it comes to sustainability either—it's about rolling up sleeves and making real changes in the packaging industry. Really excited about the line up of speakers, each an industry leader in their respective fields: David Katz: Founder of Plastic Bank, leading the way forward with groundbreaking solutions to combat plastic waste and uplift communities. Francesca Siciliano Stevens: Director General of EUROPEN, spearheading efforts to shape policies for a more circular economy in Europe. Jodie Roussell: Offering practical insights from Nestlé on how global brands are tackling packaging challenges head-on. Raffi Schieir: Founder of Prevented Ocean Plastic, passionately dedicated to confronting one of our planet's most pressing environmental threats. Surendra Patawari and Vikas Chhajer: Leaders at Gemini Corporation, revolutionising waste management by turning it into valuable resources through recycling. Willemijn Peeters: CEO of Searious Business, leading the way forward by promoting circular solutions and sustainable innovations across industries. This year both the Sustainable Packaging Summit and Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) events will be co-located at Amsterdam’s most inspiring venue, the Beurs van Berlage so even more reason to join! If you're passionate about sustainable packaging or simply eager to make a difference, I'd love to connect with you at the summit. Let's come together, learn, and leave feeling even more inspired to create positive change. For more info and to grab your tickets, check out the Sustainable Packaging Summit 2024 website—link in comments. Let me know if you're joining—hoping to see some familiar faces! “At Bergenbier, we approach not only sustainability, but the entire business with friendliness. We are people who want to achieve good things at the end of the day. Bergenbier produces beer with alcohol, but we also produce beer without alcohol, which is an important pillar in our sustainability strategy. For the production of beer we use a very precious natural resource, namely water. Every year we look for new solutions and methods to reduce water consumption in production. By 2025, globally, the Molson Coors group wants to reduce water consumption in beer production by over 20 percent. In the last 3 years, we have reduced water consumption by up to 10 percent every year. In 2023, water consumption was reduced by about 4 percent,” Ștefania Bătrînca, Corporate Affairs Manager Bergenbier S.A. said during Sustainability in Business Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest and Sustainability Today. https://lnkd.in/d3ynVqBq

We’re proud to share that our dedicated team members, Ally Ng and William Ng, recently attended the FairPrice Group x UN Global Compact Network Singapore -Foundations on Corporate Sustainability course, held at the Singapore Sustainability Academy. As part of the pioneer batch of FairPrice Group suppliers to attend this two-day workshop, they engaged in enriching discussions on the tools and practices that drive sustainable business. During the session, it was heartening to reconnect with familiar faces, including Sean Lim and Tom Lim from Tai Sun (Lim Kee) Food Industries Pte Ltd, who are also on the path to building a sustainable future. The hands-on workshop offered practical resources that Tong Seng Produce can integrate into our operations for consistent sustainability reporting, guiding us to monitor and showcase the positive impact we create. Our sustainability journey, however, started over a year ago. Since then, we’ve made strides with rooftop solar panels to boost energy efficiency, and 80% of our fleet now consists of electric vehicles, significantly reducing our carbon footprint. Until now, many of these decisions have been driven by intuition. This workshop provided us with measurable guidelines to track and further optimise our actions in reducing emissions and achieving tangible environmental goals. We wholeheartedly encourage fellow suppliers and partners to attend such workshops, as every action, big or small, contributes to a sustainable world. Let’s continue to build a responsible rice business for future generations, one meaningful step at a time! A huge thanks to our course facilitators, including Yin-Yin Yeo and Sue Meng CHAN, for leading the way in these transformative discussions. #TongSengProduce #fairpricegroup #unglobalcompactnetwork #csr #sustainability #corporatepesponsibility
