HOW SATELLITE DATA SERVICE WORKS Satellite data transmission involves several key components and processes. Here's a rundown of how it works: Ground Segment: This includes the ground stations that send and receive data. These stations can be fixed or mobile and are equipped with antennas and other communication equipment. Space Segment: This consists of the satellite itself, which orbits the Earth. Communication satellites are typically in geosynchronous orbits, meaning they remain in a fixed position relative to the Earth. Uplink: This is the process of sending data from a ground station to the satellite. This is done using radio frequency signals. Transponder: Inside the satellite, the transponder receives the uplink signal, amplifies it, and changes its frequency to avoid interference with the uplink signal. Downlink: The satellite sends the processed signal back to Earth, where it is received by another ground station. Data Processing: Once the data reaches the receiving ground station, it is processed and distributed to the end users. Therefore, the data is exposed to espionage, hacking, interference and modifications to the content. For this, we are going to launch the following product: VPN POST-Quantum among its projects for this last quarter of 2024, has the creation of the first quantum VPN with a satellite module. - I list the advantages - 1 The input and output is quantum, the traffic is encrypted with Binary Quantum Hybridization (HCB) technology, from our parent company Quantumsecurity. - 2 between 7 to 10 times faster, it cannot protect data or metadata. - 3 you can have services, such as your own exclusive virtual IP and satellite service. - 4 The exclusive satellite service is to provide a VPN service to devices that use any provider in the world, when browsing the Internet, with a satellite device, currently, neither the IP is hidden nor the traffic is encrypted, we change that, whether it is Iridium, Inmarsat, Thuraya or Starlink, we have all the latest generation encodings, to make it possible, neither the provider nor we can collect information about positioning or traffic data on the network, being exposed is over.

The system, designed with integrated #cyber #security models, will guarantee greater #speed and #flexibility in the processing and #sharing #information. The #SpaceCloud, which will be tested by creating a #digitaltwin of the architecture, will be able to store over 100 Terabytes of data generated on #Earth and in space on board each #constellation #satellite. It can perform processing with a power exceeding 250 TFLOPS (250 thousand billion operations per second) at single precision, adopting #advanced #algorithms which use #artificialintelligence, #machinelearning techniques, and #extensive #data analysis. They can also #communicate and #exchange data #autonomously with other #satellites. A cyber-secure supercomputer and #archive #system in space will guarantee users access to #strategicdata such as #communication, earth observation, and #navigationdata, anywhere, even in the most #remote #places, and at any time. Furthermore, a #SpaceCloud system significantly reduces data processing times, which is #processed directly in #orbit, providing #realtime #information, and thus facilitating #multidomain and #multination #operations. The transmission networks will be left free for other connections thanks to the only transfer of information of interest to Earth. In addition, storing data in orbit will also represent a useful #backup of the #Earth #centers, which are most exposed to natural disasters. The project sees Leonardo at the forefront with the participation of the joint ventures Telespazio (67% Leonardo, 33% Thales ) and Thales Alenia Space (67% Thales, 33% Leonardo). With a duration of 24 months, the study includes a first phase for #defining the architecture and a second phase that will end with developing a digital twin of the satellite with the #HPC and the #multi-#constellation satellite #terminal #demonstrator. The goal is to #simulate the different #application #scenarios in a #digital #environment. These tests will be carried out thanks to Leonardo's supercomputer, the #davinci1, among the first aerospace and defense HPCs in the world in terms of computing power and performance. The study will be a #precursor to a further experimental phase, which, if confirmed, will involve the #deployment in #orbit of a demonstrative #constellation of #satellites. Good Morning! Today, we announce that Forward Edge-AI has been awarded a Direct to Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) by the Space Development Agency (SDA) to develop a quantum-resistant, High-Throughput Space Router (HTSR). Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gptWkBCX. Our HTSR will underpin the the SDA’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) initiative. PWSA represents the growing importance of satellite technology in modern warfare. Our HTSR will securely and efficiently route data across the PWSA’s low Earth orbit (pLEO) constellation of satellites. Our new HTSR also will enable dynamic connections between multiple commercial infrastructure nodes and C6ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) nodes, providing robust and flexible data transport solution. The technology leverages Forward Edge-AI's quantum-resistant encryption technology, and Artificial Intelligence at the edge, to meet resiliency requirements including self-healing and anti-fragility. Coherent Logix, Juniper Networks, and Microsoft will serve as Research and Development (R&D) partners. #space #SBIR #cybersecurity #artificialintelligence #cubesat #spaceforce

Data fusion is transforming SDA by merging data from different sources such as electro-optical sensors, radar and RF signals. COMSPOC’s SSA Software Suite uses data fusion to provide a more precise understanding of space threats. As J. Jeff Cornelius, MBA, COMSPOC's product manager, explains, "We built it robustly so it could bring in all sorts of data so that we could take advantage of the [strengths] and mitigate the weaknesses." For example, COMSPOC’s optical telescope data bundled with Kratos Defense and Security Solutions’ RF data offers more accurate SDA, ensuring better space safety outcomes.

Pasqal and Thales Alenia Space have been using the power of quantum computing to make satellite technology more efficient and believe they have solved key satellite planning challenges through neutral-atom quantum computing. The power of quantum computing means the two companies can do more on this compared to classic computers. The two companies say they have made a major breakthrough on the AQUAPS project which aims to explore neutral atom architectures to solve optimization problems, with a particular focus on satellite planning. Pasqal revealed details about the breakthrough, May 17. #connectivity #connectivitymatters #hacking #military #communications #cybersecurity #security #infosec #networksecurity #newspace #newspaceeconomy #constellations #satellite #space #satelliteoperatos #satcoms #satellitesystems #telecommunications #spaceindustry #LowEarthOrbit #sda #megaconstellations #spaceindustry #esa #nasa #eu #europe#cyberwarfare #cyberdefense #defense #jamming #resilience #oneweb #starlink #spacex #telesat #milsatcom #govsatcom #spacecraft #internetofthings #development #spacedata #qkd #qci #euroqci #keydistribution #saga #quantum #opticalnetworking #opticalcommunications #laser #MichaelHadjitheodosiou https://lnkd.in/enpvVPDw

You've heard of SDN & SD-WAN, but how do you maintain a persistent and secure connection across more than 2 traditional terrestrial-based links? Aalyria, a company that spun out of Google demonstrated its Spacetime platform earlier this week for the DoD. Spacetime is a Temporospatial Software-Defined Networking (TS-SDN) orchestration platform. It dynamically manages mesh connectivity that spans across traditional terrestrial fiber, terrestrial-based 5G, non-terrestrial direct-to-device 5G, multi-vendor LEO/MEO/HEO constellations, and everything in between. The ability to maintain consistent & resilient connectivity in response to events such as unexpected loss of satellites, jamming, spoofing, and fiber cuts is becoming more critical (think Cyberwarfare). At the same time, these types of orchestration platforms can be responsive to dynamically changing requirements related to throughput, latency, and prioritization. I'm sure we'll see more vendors introduce these types of capabilities in the future to manage the ever growing complexity of connectivity options. Read more at the link below. Cool stuff!!
