"Don’t I need more gray hair for this role?" 👵👵 When I was interviewing for a growth strategist position, I asked the leadership, “Don’t you want someone older who’s done this five times before?” They assured me they were looking for experience and believed in my ability to dive deep into the industry and learn more about the market opportunities in education, hospitals, nursing homes, rehab centers, clinics, airports, stadiums, and more. I reached out to Josh Rochlin, a former mentor at the OU Impact Accelerator, who I know is involved in growing companies. I asked him if transitioning into a B2B sales growth role would be too much of a leap after my focus on startup growth in fintech and the nonprofit world. Josh reassured me that people are helpful and that I could leverage my network, especially LinkedIn. He saw it as an exciting way to leverage my past experiences for a product I care about. So, here I am. As an extrovert, I love learning by meeting people, and I’m looking to connect with leaders in B2B sales.
