ELM Utility Services recently began an ambitious project to map 1,400 miles of natural gas gathering pipelines in north-central Montana using advanced Vivax-Metrotech Corporation RTK receivers. This project, color-coded into seven distinct phases, is set for completion by 2025. Currently, the Great Falls team—Michael Lopez, Jeff Hummert, Cory Taylor—alongside Ben Naylor (Bozeman), Christopher Smith, and Jerame Harp (Billings), is hard at work on the purple phase. These pipelines, essential for transporting unprocessed natural gas from wellheads to processing facilities, include a mix of steel and plastic piping, valves, and drip lines.
