In our five-decade journey towards future-readiness, the ability to adapt to change has been a constant. It is no secret that to be anti-fragile in an increasingly fragile world, large businesses have to be agile.  At AM International Holdings Private Limited, we have been continually experimenting, understanding, and reinventing our processes to move towards a clean, green, and lean manufacturing approach. In a world of constant flux, embracing modern technology and ESG-driven innovations makes long-term growth attainable for manufacturing firms. A recent Harvard Business Review article made an interesting observation highlighting how business leaders should think like scientists. Formulating, testing, and tweaking plans and processes are key elements in building resilience and relevance. When mechanization and digitization converge, new opportunities arise for legacy manufacturing firms like ours. For instance, our recent farmer training and awareness workshop at SPIC demonstrated the use of advanced technology and scientific innovations in agriculture. Such direct engagement provides essential feedback for implementing new initiatives and ensures that farmers use our agri-nutrients efficiently for higher crop yields. As countries and corporations align with the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement, today's discerning customers are actively seeking eco-friendly solutions. Manali Petrochemicals Ltd.'s agreement with UK’s Econic Technologies Ltd Technologies to introduce carbon capture technology for producing eco-friendly CO2-containing polyols stems from our twin goals of serving both the ecology and the economy. Technology to trap and reuse carbon emissions has great potential and complements our endeavour towards a circular economy. While such actions align with our science-based thinking, the collaborations and partnerships amplify impact. They streamline operations in a manner that ultimately translates into prudence--a key guiding pillar for our business growth. Michiel Scheffer, President of the Board of the European Innovation Council, challenged the raw materials sector with an important question: "What does 'advanced' mean when we refer to advanced materials? Does it include characteristics of polymers or blends of metals, or is it solely about the basic material substrates?"   Addressing this question at the #RawMaterialsSummit highlights the progress needed in defining this area. The developing field of Advanced Materials is crucial for increasing Europe’s resilience in raw materials, reducing dependencies on primary production, extending product lifecycles, and optimizing recycling rates.   Europe must accelerate advancements in developing Advanced Materials capabilities to enhance raw materials risk resilience.
