Clever advertising? Or a missed opportunity? I’m no expert on advertising. I grabbed this packet of gum with the Canadian Blood Services logo from the “swag” table after donating. At first I thought, that’s a weird flex… but then I think I saw the intention: people offer gum to other people. It’s an opportunity to start a conversation. It might go something like this: “You donate blood? I’ve been considering it, but …. (Fill in any number of the thoughts I used to have about it before I finally took the plunge) “ The point is to open the conversation. It may lead to a new donor. I think a packet of gum is a great way to do it! What do you think? ps. Canadian blood services need more donors over the holidays than other times in the year. Please consider donating if you can. #canadianbloodservices #canadianblooddonors #itsinyoutogive #advertising #promotionalmaterials
I'm thinking it's a good way to get your brand out there. Agreed, at first it feels a little strange but it's something that will be seen and commented on. I can see how it could lead to increased awareness and donations.
