The CENTCOM Team analyzed Israel's rejection of a proposed 21-day ceasefire with Hezbollah and the mass displacement and humanitarian crisis at the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing between Lebanon and Syria. Netanyahu will likely leverage the diplomatic leeway from potential ceasefire negotiations to enhance Israel’s image while continuing airstrikes in Lebanon. Meanwhile, UNHCR, UNICEF, ICRC, and their local partners will likely need to strengthen their local presence in Syria to expose potential threats from Assad against Syrian returnees, with a roughly even chance that this oversight will deter direct prosecution. #OSINT #Monday #Israel #Hezbollah #Syria #Lebanon #HumanitarianCrisis https://lnkd.in/gvfgWCYt

Article 8 of the Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) identifies the following as war crimes: - Intentionally directing attacks against civilians - Intentionally directing attacks against personnel involved in humanitarian assistance missions. Unconscionable has a few different meanings, but they all boil down to something being extremely unfair, unreasonable, or immoral. Here's a breakdown of the different ways it can be used: Lacking conscience: This refers to someone who acts without considering right or wrong. For example, "An unconscionable liar would have no problem making up stories to get ahead." Unreasonable or excessive: This describes something that goes way beyond what's fair or acceptable. For instance, "The company's unconscionable profit margin raised eyebrows among consumers." Unjust or outrageous: This emphasizes the wrongness or offensiveness of something. #WagePeace ☮ #StopWar #ceasefirenow
The devastating Israeli airstrikes that killed World Central Kitchen personnel yesterday bring the number of aid workers killed in this conflict to 196 – including more than 175 members of our own United Nations staff. This is unconscionable. It demonstrates yet again the urgent need for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, the unconditional release of all hostages, and the expansion of humanitarian aid into Gaza – as the Security Council demanded in its resolution last week. The resolution must be implemented without delay.

The impunity is unconscionable too.

I can't stop thinking about our six UNRWA colleagues killed by Israeli airstrikes in Gaza in a school that was sheltering around 12,000 displaced people. Sincere condolences to their families and loved ones. As António Guterres said, these dramatic violations of international humanitarian law need to stop now. Nowhere is safe. The UN is determined to stay in Gaza to deliver life-saving aid. However, our humanitarian response is facing unparalleled difficulty - our teams have been displaced, bombed and shot at, we have lost offices and warehouses, and limited supplies continue to dwindle. We need a ceasefire now.

For sure your conscience will enjoy this when you talk about starving Gaza. Some inconvenient truths that’ll surely anger the anti Israel crowd o Ie yourself and the UN. No country in history ever supplied so much food and medical aid to the enemy and its populus as Israel has during this current war. (Note that these numbers have only increased since March) Israel is already facilitating the entry of more than 1,000 trucks of aid to Gaza per week and stands ready to do more. Since Hamas initiated the war on October 7, 280,080 tons of aid have entered on 15,207 trucks. Since the start of the war, Israel has denied entry to only 1.6% of trucks seeking to enter Gaza. The main obstacle to humanitarian aid reaching civilians is the distribution mechanism inside of Gaza. Truck drivers are also delaying distribution by arriving late to Rafah and leaving early. During the war, more food trucks have entered Gaza than prior to the war — on average an increase of more than 50% per day. 184,5000 tons of food have entered Gaza since the start of the war. Four tankers carrying cooking oil enter Gaza every day — a sufficient quantity to meet the needs of the territory. 310 cooking gas tanks have entered Gaza since the start of the war. The World Food Program is currently supplying 15 massive Gazan bakeries — with the capacity to produce more than 2 million pita breads, rolls, and other breads per day. Israel has facilitated the delivery of more than 18,400 tons of medical supplies to Gaza since Hamas attacked Israel. On March 2, Israel also delivered 50 incubators for hospitals across Gaza. Israel has facilitated the entrance of 74 ambulances to Gaza and more than a million vaccine doses. Israel has worked with Jordan and the UAE to establish two field hospitals in Khan Yunis and Rafah. Additional field hospitals are operated by the Red Crescent and the International Medical Corps. Over 600,000 Syrians have been killed since 2013. Where are the protests in streets and universities worldwide and condemnation at the U.N.? That is why this attack on Israel worldwide is pure Antisemitism. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who on Oct. 22, 1967, forcefully rebuked the expression of anti-Zionist remarks: “Don’t talk like that! When people criticize ‘Zionists,’ they mean Jews. You’re talking antisemitism.””

The assault on #Northern #Gaza raises grave concerns of #genocide, yet the lack of #media coverage is obscuring the full scale of documenting these atrocities. Israeli airstrikes are targeting densely populated civilian areas, starving people, destroying homes, and critical infrastructure in violation of international law, which prohibits attacks on civilians and disproportionate use of force. The blockade of humanitarian aid depriving Gaza’s population of food, water, and medical supplies, constitutes collective punishment and amount to war crimes. The systematic destruction and lack of escape routes raise the possibility of genocide under the Genocide Convention. Without international media coverage, these violations go unchecked. Urgent global intervention is needed to #ceasefire
