Darbar Arts Culture Heritage’s Post

Our Programs and Partnerships Head Esther Trienekens talks about winter wisdom and finding joy and balance after the festival season   "With October behind us and the Darbar festival season wrapped up, winter brings a natural pause—a time to reset, reflect, and recharge. The days may be shorter, the air colder, and the temptation to hibernate strong, but this season offers something special: an opportunity to rediscover balance and joy in what we do.   For us, this season starts with celebrating our successes. A bit of fun with the team reminds us why we love what we do and helps us refocus. Taking a moment to share in the achievements of the team not only boosts morale but also reinforces the impact we’re creating. This period is also a chance to revisit long-overlooked projects, explore fresh ideas, and refine the vision that drives us. We take time step back and reflect and think about our vision for the future. Blue Sky Thinking days and deconstructing projects, at Darbar most often happen in winter times. It’s when we have a time and space to go back to why we are here - the impact we’re trying to create and to streamline projects that might have been struggling. Focussing on the future sparks positivity and excitement.   Staying motivated in winter isn’t about constantly pushing forward; it’s about rediscovering balance. It’s about finding joy in what we do and celebrating the people we do it with. Winter may be dark and cold, but it also holds the promise of renewal—a chance to nurture ideas, relationships, and ourselves."
