“Learning to read and embrace complexity is important: choose training courses that focus on the connections between different fields of knowledge rather than mere verticality. That's right, post-disciplinarity is and will be crucial. 📌 Save this in your calendar if you're keen to learn more about 'technology marketization'. Drawing on insights from 📋 87 interviews with technology managers, the seminar will discuss how to convert early-stage technologies born in university labs into innovations. It's on tomorrow (Wednesday). Do share with your contacts who might be interested! 📅 9th October ⏰ 12.30 - 13.30 CET / 11.30 - 12.30 BST 🎤 Dr. Sven Molner #technologymarketization #earlystagetechnology #technologyseminar #onlineseminar #technologytalk #technologydiscussion #marketingtalk #marketingseminar #industrytalk #selfdevelopment #lunchtimeseminar #lunchtimelearning #knowledgesharing
EMAC SIG Innovation and Stakeholders hosts its inaugural online seminar, by one of its co-chairs, Sven Molner on October 9, 12.30-13.30 CET. Zoom: https://lnkd.in/eANuV6uK Meeting ID: 856 3041 8760 Pass code: 481579 Abstract: Many early-stage technologies emerge from universities and public research institutions which are commercially unstructured, non-market settings. To enable commercialization and innovation, managers must move early-stage technologies from this pre-commercial, laboratory context guided by scientific logic into a commercial setting guided by market logic. We refer to this transition process as technology marketization, a fundamental and yet under-explored marketing activity. Drawing on insights from 87 interviews with technology managers in the context of university technology transfer, we identify and theorize four distinct technology marketization schemas that managers employ to orient their decision-making. These schemas are distinguished by different market epistemologies, modes of uncertainty regulation, and degrees of self-organization. Based on our findings, we argue that technology marketization schemas that view markets as emergent (rather than existent), seek to increase uncertainty (rather than reduce it), and allow for higher (rather than lower) degrees of self-organization are more likely to result in favorable technology marketization outcomes.

A look at the Up-Skill project with Jens von Axelson of consortium partner MITC - Mälardalen Industrial Technology Center, Sweden! 'Up-Skill: Up-skilling for Industry 5.0 Roll-out' focuses on the integration of #industry50 and human #skills integration for #manufacturing. Industry 5.0 places emphasis on the requirement for efficiency, productivity and return on investment - within the broader context of #sustainability, #resilience and human-centricity - and using #digitalisation and related, emerging #technologies to benefit industry, particularly in terms of sector productivity and robustness, workers and society. In this latest article, Jens provides an insight into both Up-Skill and MITC's current work on the project to develop a ‘do and learn’ #trainingcourse for a company that will have Industry 5.0 objectives as a focus. Self-assessment is an important part of methodology, providing both a necessary thought process for the individual in the company and a means of expressing the company’s core values. This 'start phase' will end with suggestions and an action plan for further development by the company. The Up-Skill partners with MITC are TWI's Anglia Ruskin Innovation Centre (with Anglia Ruskin University) and Joining 4.0 Innovation Centre (with Lancaster University), IRIS Technology, KNEIA SL, Mälardalen University and Università degli Studi di Milano. 🌟 Exploring the Dynamics of Divergent and Convergent Thinking 🌟 In my recent studies, I've jumped into the fascinating world of divergent and convergent thinking, significant concepts for creative problem-solving presented in my MSc SmartEdTech interdisciplinary project course taught by Professor George Kalmpourtzis, PhD. Here's what I have been reviewing and learning in my latest work session: Divergent Thinking: This involves generating multiple, diverse solutions to problems, leveraging key skills: Fluency: Producing numerous responses. Think "many." Flexibility: Creating varied ideas. Think "different." Originality: Generating unique, out-of-the-box ideas. Think "unusual." Elaboration: Adding detailed depth to ideas. Think "detail." Convergent Thinking: In contrast, this focuses on refining and selecting the best ideas by: Evaluating ideas through various criteria Analyzing and assessing for optimal solutions Filtering diverse perspectives logically and impartially Balancing these thinking styles is essential for effective design and innovation. This understanding is a cornerstone of my Master's in Smart-EdTech, Co-creativity, Technology, and Enhanced Learning at Université Côte d'Azur #CreativeThinking #ProblemSolving #EdTech #Innovation #DivergentThinking #ConvergentThinking #UniversitéCôtedAzur

🌍 Co-innovation helps us address complex problems in today’s fast-paced world🚀 The challenge: fragmented efforts and siloed knowledge. The solution? Co-innovation—where diverse stakeholders collaborate, bringing unique insights. Imagine a continuous cycle of planning, doing, observing, and reflecting that sparks innovation.💡 New Zealand’s Primary Innovation program of AgResearch exemplifies this. Check out this recent study by Neels Botha, Jeff Coutts and others. #innovationsystems #coinnovation #systemsthinking #sustainabledevelopment https://lnkd.in/df-NweiZ
