❔ It started with a simple question. I’m ashamed to admit this, but at the time it was asked, not only did I not know the answer, I did not even know about the issue it raised. Five years ago, I was speaking at an event about small businesses raising money from venture capital firms. Venture capitalists are professional investors who buy shares in companies in return for cash so those companies can grow. After my talk, a woman came up and asked me: “Why does so little funding go to female founders?” “I have no idea,” I replied. “But I’ll find out.” What I found out was absolutely shocking, and in the five years since then, I have done everything I can to raise awareness about this issue, to support female founders and to challenge the venture capital industry. 👉 Read more about my journey and insights in the full article: https://shorturl.at/HD3db Thanks again to CEO Monthly for featuring me. #FundingFocus #CEOMonthly #DiversityInInvestment #FemaleFounders #TheFightForFairerFunding
What a compelling journey! It's truly eye-opening how a simple question can unveil significant issues that many of us aren't even aware of. The venture capital landscape needs more champions to push for equity and inclusiveness.
This lack of funding is a scandal that needs to stop
David B Horne I’m so glad and blessed that I knew you and we can come together to support more female founders to get more funding for their amazing startups! 😉💪🏻 We need to catch up soon 🙏🏻
Thankyou for all the work you do to shine a spotlight on this continued issue. A hugely insightful article 🤩
Thank you for being on this mission!
David B Horne this is incredible ✨
A great article that sums up your journey for supporting female founders and ethnic minorities, David B Horne.
Nearly as shocking that we have been connected for nearly 5yrs and nothing has changed and its still a topic - forget vertical or niche before we get shouted at!
Great article David. Perhaps it's time for women-led startups to be evaluated based on their performance data rather than unfounded assumptions.

4moA great mission, and I fear it's deeper, more complex and entrained (intertwined) with unfair bias towards very capable women.
