The New Star Less than a year ago, developers proposed a MAD architects-designed building that filled an entire city block along Sunset Boulevard, just steps from the Hollywood Walk of Fame. After siteline considerations, Foster + Partners has come up with a revised design for a 22-story office tower that features a corkscrew of lush gardens. It is hard to think of a more representative building for Hollywood than this. On the one hand, it pays homage to the circular Capitol Building less than a mile away. On the other, it overflows with multi-colored greenery from every opening. Office real estate has generally taken a real hit, particularly in LA. Nottingham Broad Marsh Master Plan Unveiled The master plan for transforming the Broad Marsh area in Nottingham has been unveiled, progressing from the initial vision to detailed plans outlining new homes, offices, leisure facilities, and green spaces. This comprehensive plan aims to create opportunities for living and working in the area, attract investment, and generate employment for local businesses. A new fly-through CGI video and images provide a glimpse of the future look of the area. The master plan, developed by major international architecture and design practice BDP and property advisor JLL, follows extensive public consultation. Key elements of the Broad Marsh vision include: - Over 1,000 new homes - Approximately 2,500 new jobs - Around 20,000 sqm of office, commercial, and leisure space - Excellent public realm - Retention of part of the old shopping centre’s structural frame for innovative new spaces, including an NHS Community Diagnostic Centre and a Caves visitor attraction. Nottingham City Council appointed BDP and JLL to develop the plan for this significant city centre project. The plan will be used to continue dialogues with Homes England and the new East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) to prepare the area for market readiness. Thrilled to see Intuit’s Mountain View Building 22 (MTV-22) featured in Interior Design Magazine. The building’s heart, shown here, is a three story-atrium and interconnecting stair that pulls natural light deep into the floor plates, minimizes energy, and encourages movement. “Progression through the space is spiral and episodic in order to experience delightful moments,” notes WRNS Studio partner Brian Milman.    MTV-22 is our second ground-up workplace on Intuit’s Mountain View Campus, the result of a successful collaboration with Clive Wilkinson Architects. We completed the design before the pandemic; however, significant changes were made during construction to support Intuit’s re-imagined hybrid work model—a “Stronger Together” ethos. The spaces people came back to needed to foster increased in-person collaboration and accelerated innovation. In response, the new building accommodates 940 employees with floors organized into flexible, human-scaled neighborhoods, providing different ways to collaborate, focus, and socialize.
