First it was 1311Then 125And now 60I'm committed to Saving the Future Today, leaving  no stone unturned.I attended four intensive but gratifying weeks at the LEAP Africa #ELearning Boot Camp, gaining vital skills and knowledge that led to secure my spot in the second phase. The first week of the second phase began with Sarah Olubunmi Uwaechie with here fantastic introduction of our facilitators. First session was facilitated by  @Toby A. introducing us about #ELearning and its #authoring tools, including the iSpring Solutions app. The session gave us a preview of what we might expect in the coming weeks. By the end of the session, I had worked with a fantastic group of people, including Qudus Salami, @Onyedikachi Chijioke, Sylvia Mkar, Vimbainaishe Mutsvairo and Matthew to create a project titled: Diversity and Inclusion at work place.  The assignment was to build a well-organized, structured, comprehensive course by putting what we learned in Phase I into practice. Then in the afternoon session of the day we attended a coaching session led by @Odunayo Olowe, who helped us to come up with an engaging group project. We successfully developed the course as a group and submitted it for peer review. After submitting our group work, we were asked to review and rate the other four groups' work quantitatively and qualitatively. The Success story yet... At the beginning of the cohort 7.0 boot camp with the Africa Agility Foundation, I was a bit nervous because of the energy, time and attention juggling the classes, assignments and work that would demand. Regardless, I'm super proud to present to you the week 2 Branding and marketing track spotlight. I must say that my active participation and attendance were 70% the effort of the well-skilled facilitators like Gracious M. Ezirim, CDMP, CDTP and 30% self-motivation. Celebrating my little milestones is one of the little ways I reward myself, hence this post. So far, I've connected with great minds from different countries in Africa and I'm still connecting. Humanitarian 💭 thinkers on the importance of 🔖 learning ‘The definition of the truth is being framed and defined by northern norms. How can we bring the knowledge of the humanitarian realities of the Global South to the table?’ explains Puji Pujiono, Senior Advisor of the Pujiono Centre Jakarta, who believes the humanitarian narrative had for too long been driven by northern knowledge. Puji, who was speaking at a gathering of humanitarian leaders and thinkers supporting the #PledgeforChange2030 in Nairobi, Kenya, added: ‘It will require a radical approach into what is considered truth, first and foremost.’      The #PledgeforChange2030 re-imagines the role of INGOs in the global humanitarian and development aid system, pledging to build a stronger aid ecosystem based on the principles of solidarity, humility, self-determination and equality. At the #PledgeforChange2030 meeting on 18 April, 2024, ALNAP, the global network inspiring learning for greater humanitarian impact, Adeso Africa and the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership (CHL) interviewed eight humanitarian leaders and thinkers from international and national humanitarian organisations to get key insights on the challenges around learning, localisation and decolonisation and the future of the sector. Last Friday, as part of the "Local government approaches to diversity" conference under the Belgian EU presidency, an inspiring workshop on "Mentoring for Labour Market Integration, Lifelong Learning, and Stronger Connections" was held. The event showcased two successful city-mentoring partnerships and a best-practice mentoring program from Finland: 👉 The collaboration between Stad Mechelen's Social Services and DUO for a JOB, working together to integrate vulnerable jobseekers into the labour market through mentoring. 👉 The partnership between Ville de Poitiers and AFEV focusing on mentoring in schools to empower young people with self-confidence and a passion for learning 👉 Espoon kaupunki - Esbo stad - City of Espoo innovative mentoring initiative supporting highly skilled migrants in finding employment in Finland. Mentoring emerged as a versatile tool addressing challenges in education, integration, and employment, contributing to societal transformation and fighting inequalities. The key to mentoring's success lies in the personal bond between mentor and mentee, fostering trust and empowerment. This approach complements governmental and city services, providing a holistic solution to complex societal issues. Lastly, Mentoring Europe emphasized the importance of expanding mentoring across EU cities. 📚 Our latest #AnnualReport delves into the achievements reached by projects led by ENSIE, addressing a various range of challenges. 🎯 2023 marked significant milestones such as integrating low-skilled individuals and those from disadvantaged backgrounds and disabilities into the European Year of Skills. ENSIE launched the Roadmap for the Blueprint on WISEs in Europe and actively contributed to the EU Talent Pool dialogue for third-country nationals. 💡 The #BWISE project partners mapped the WISEs context at the national level, producing comprehensive country fiches and pivotal documents like the Report on Occupational Profiles and Universal Training Curricula. In the framework of the #NetWorks project our efforts led to the launch of the MOOC “Networks of work-based adult education providers capacity building,” enhancing collaboration and networking within the WISEs sector. Also, key resources like the FAQ Collection on network creation and the Guidebook on external communication were published. 🤝 Moreover, the #BREED project supported social economy development through transnational social missions, providing strategies and insights for local ecosystems. 🌍 Update from our Joint International Research Projects 2024 🌍 Part 2: Supporting Organisational Development of the African Green Store Network (AGSN)! 🇰🇪 🇳🇬🌐 "🌿Team Kenya+ hits the halfway mark of the JIRPs, achieving major #milestones and conducting two workshops in two African Green Store Network (AGSN) partner countries! 🚀 🌍As part of the ongoing SLE and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH advisory research project: “Supporting Organisational Development of the African Green Store Network (AGSN) to Foster Sustainable #Knowledge Transfer in AGSN Partner Countries,” the team split up into two sub-teams. 🇳🇬 One sub-team carried out a 4-day #workshop on #network #governance in Lagos, #Nigeria, supporting AGSN in its organisational development. The workshop focused on developing a strategic roadmap and action plan, bringing together #insights from a series of virtual workshops with the AGSN executive board and special officers. 📋✨ Using an adapted business model #canvas, the AGSN outlined key goals and paths forward for its organisational growth.. 🎯 🤝 Alongside strategic planning, the workshop also served as a #teambuilding event, bringing together a #diverse team from 13 African countries who usually meet #online. It was a privilege for the SLE students to be part of this pivotal step in AGSN’s journey! 🙌 🚀 The SLE students gained valuable experience in moderating bilingual workshops (online & in-person), facilitating decision-making and creating a space for effective and joyful #collaboration. 🇰🇪 Meanwhile, the other JIRP sub-team led a #participatory film workshop in BUKURA AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE, Western Kenya, fostering #youth integration in the agricultural sector. Reflecting on the Foundation of My Journey: Junior Achievement in Haiti As I approach my 10th month in Canada, I reflect on the journey that brought me here, particularly the formative experiences that shaped my path. One of the most impactful was participating in the Junior Achievement (JA) program during my last two high school years at The Haitian Project Louverture Cleary School in Haiti. In 1998, our school was one of the few selected in Port-au-Prince—and across Haiti at large—to participate in this incredible program, thanks to the support of FOKAL. The JA program laid the foundation for my understanding of business, instilling in me a spirit of hard work and a business mindset that has guided me through every step of my career. It wasn't just about learning the basics of entrepreneurship but about adopting a mindset that values perseverance, innovation, and the courage to take on challenges. This experience was transformative, and I believe programs like Junior Achievement are crucial for our younger generation. They offer students the tools and inspiration they need to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities. As I continue to navigate my new chapter here in Canada, I carry the lessons I learned through JA—lessons that I'm eager to share and build upon in this new environment. To my fellow newcomers and professionals, let's leverage our experiences and networks to create opportunities, not just for ourselves but for those who will come after us.
