As we talk about population growth and control, we should also discuss how other factors contribute to it. Much research has shown a strong correlation between gender equality and population growth. Countries with better career and education opportunities for women, coupled with better access to reproductive health care, have shown to slow down the growth rate. However, in other countries where women have limited access to such tend to have higher birth rates. As we tackle inclusivity, we also wish to include in the discussion the future generations who might not be able to fully enjoy what we enjoy now if we don't take action in creating an Earth that lives and sustains lives. That includes having a world where women are live with respect, dignity, and autonomy in their choices. According to the United Nations, the global population surpassed eight billion on November 15, 2022.  United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres says, "Reaching a global population of eight billion is a numerical landmark, but our focus must always be on people. In the world we strive to build, 8 billion people mean 8 billion opportunities to live dignified and fulfilled lives." RWI Synthetics believes we must empower everyone to make informed decisions contributing to sustainable development. In a world of 8 billion, there must always be space for possibility. Adolescent health matters! Years have passed since the sustainable development goals were set globally, and progress has stalled in many areas including Goals 3 and 5 🎯 Addressing good health and wellbeing and Gender Equality are key aspects of achieving the SDGs As we continue to advocate for adolescent health, it is important to highlight these issues to raise awareness and mobilize support for adolescent health research and programs. Important points. An interesting case study is comparison between East and West German fertility rates. With birth control rates fell in both populations in the 1960s, but in East Germany there were efforts to 'push back the tide', which caused rates to increase again... until 1989 and the fall of the Berlin Wall. After this East German rates fell quickly towards those in West Germany, and I think even overshot them: https://lnkd.in/e5ZUAuwx (See, esp, fig 1c)

🏆 New project awarded 🏆 📢 We are excited to announce we will conducting the mid-term evaluation of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Supplies Partnership (2021-2030). The main goal of the evaluation is to assess the performance of the Partnership in providing support to meet the needs of women and girls for modern contraceptives 💊 and life-saving maternal health medicines🤰, and in strengthening the health systems🏥. The evaluation will examine the Partnership’s operational effectiveness and efficiency, as well as the promotion of gender equality ♀️♂️ and human rights in the context of the programme. 🎯 Key objectives: • 📈Analyze how the Partnership’s conceptual framework and theory of change have guided UNFPA support for procuring and funding commodities and measure progress towards desired outcomes. • 📚Capture good practices from the Partnership to inform future programming and implementation through 2030.
