I guess I'm a boring marketer. I never thought about myself that way, but it's probably true. This moment of clarity came to me as I interacted with several other marketers from Pune at a Mixer. The stories I heard were full of "sexy" stuff, activism, social causes, bright and funny creatives, push-the-envelope strategy, and the like. I guess, after 14 years of working with boring B2B technology companies, some of that personality has rubbed off on me. However, I actively sought out these conversations. It's clear that even the brands we work with want to be seen differently. They want to be more engaging, relatable, and likeable. In other words, they want to be interesting. So, we need to become interesting again! Thank you Pranay Swarup and Julie Kriegshaber from SuperStuff for setting this up. Thank you to all the interesting people I met for inspiring me.
