🤔 I am back again with another: What Does this Mean to a Business Owner? ❓🤔 OK let's dive into the latest from Google. The tech giant has recently wrapped up its March Spam Update and is still rolling out a significant Core Update. Here’s what you need to know: Targeting AI and Authority Abuse: The spam update took aim at AI-generated content and misuse of expired domains, ensuring that authenticity and reliability remain key in content creation. Helpful Content Is Queen: With the ongoing core update, Google is folding its "Helpful Content" criteria into the core algorithm, emphasizing the value of original, high-quality content designed for humans, not just search engines. My Advice? Patience Is a Virtue: If you've noticed ranking fluctuations, hold off on major changes until the core update fully completes. It's a reminder that in SEO, sometimes the best action is to wait and watch. 📈 As we navigate these updates, it’s crucial to focus on creating genuine, valuable content that resonates with your audience. The spotlight is on human creativity and expertise—let's make sure our digital presence reflects that! 💥 It is important to note that I am not saying don't use AI. I am saying use it in the right way if or when you use it. Keep in mind it is evolving quickly so when I say use it the "right way" you should check because even that is evolving quickly. 💡 Whether you're looking to revamp your SEO strategy or enhance your content for this new landscape, remember, adaptation and quality are your best allies in keeping up with Google's changes. Need a hand adapting to these updates or refining your content strategy? Feel free to reach out. Together, we can ensure your business not only keeps pace but thrives in this evolving digital environment. #GoogleUpdates #SEOStrategy #ContentIsKing #DigitalMarketing #NicoleMcDonald

Google's March spam update completed as of this morning and focused on abuse & misuse. In short, #AI slackers beware! Scaled content production (aka content churned out via AI) was at the core focus of this update. So, if you've been pumping out content ad nauseam without stopping to check in for quality the odds are you'll be hit. This is why it's paramount to keep the human in the loop. AI is a great tool, but let's not forget that content is about the reader, not the algorithm. This update also went after expired domain abuse and site reputation abuse. Site reputation abuse is taking a website with a solid reputation and putting low-quality content on it with the hopes of driving traffic to less reputable 3rd parties. Expired domain abuse relates to purchasing previously owned, expired domains that had relevant traffic and redirecting them to an unrelated site with the goal of increasing traffic to that site. Both of these activities detract from the user's experience! Stay ahead of the updates by always following best practices and working with agencies that adhere to those same principles. #DigitalMarketing #GoogleUpdate #SEO

AI is there to help you, not to replace you. 🤝 Google's spam update teaches us a lesson - stop using AI to write your content. Instead, use it to generate ideas and draft your initial content. #GoogleUpdate #ContentMarketing

🚨 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲'𝘀 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗘𝗢 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀?🚨 Google has strengthened its stance against site reputation abuse, targeting manipulative practices where third-party content exploits a host site’s ranking signals. Let’s break this down and discuss how it impacts SEO. 𝗡𝗼 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: It doesn't matter if the host site controls or supervises the third-party content, if the content is used to manipulate rankings, it’s still a violation according to Google’s updated policy. 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Subsections of a site that differ from the main content are now evaluated separately, no more ranking boosts just because they live under a strong domain with good authority score. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: Rankings should reflect content quality, not the host site’s reputation. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗘𝗢 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗗𝗼? If you manage third-party content: ✅ Align with Your Niche: Ensure every piece of content matches your site's focus and provides real value to users. ✅ Stop Exploitation: Don’t use your domain to rank irrelevant, low-quality pages. ✅ Audit Subsections: Treat site subsections like standalone sites. Make sure they can stand on their own merits. 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱? 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿? 1️⃣ Audit Third-Party Content: Look for content that’s unrelated or not adding value. 2️⃣ Remove or Noindex Abusive Pages: Protect your domain’s reputation by eliminating problematic sections. 3️⃣ Submit a Reconsideration Request: Use Search Console to explain the fixes you’ve implemented. 4️⃣ Focus on Original, High-Value Content: Content made for users always wins in the long run. 📖 Learn more about Google's approach to addressing site reputation abuse: https://lnkd.in/gPanvWGy 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗧𝗶𝗽: Even if you haven’t been penalized, a proactive content review can prevent future issues as Google automates enforcement.
