6.5 million euros funding from the European FIGHT KIDS CANCER program for four projects at #KiTZ focused on childhood #braintumors and the development of new #diagnostic and #therapeutic procedures. The "Fight Kids Cancer" program, supported by non-profit organizations, funds transnational early #clinicalstudies and #researchprojects aimed at improving the situation for children with #cancer. Clinical pediatric cancer research relies on international collaboration due to the small patient population, and programs like “Fight Kids Cancer“ are crucial for enabling these efforts. Prof. Dr. med. Stefan M. Pfister highlighted the importance of such funding in improving outcomes for young cancer patients. https://lnkd.in/edPnfJXi The Hopp Children’s Cancer Center Heidelberg (KiTZ) is a joint institution of the DKFZ German Cancer Research Center, University Hospital Heidelberg (UKHD) and Heidelberg University. /mg

💜 Today is World Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day 💜 I’m reflecting on the incredible work of Project Purple® in the fight against pancreatic cancer. This cause is personal for me. My father-in-law Bruce passed away from this disease, and his memory inspires me to share their achievements... 1 - $750,000 Research Grant: Project Purple has made the largest donation to pancreatic cancer research in Connecticut. This grant funds a statewide high-risk screening program, designed to serve as a national model. 2 - Global Reach: As a partner of the five largest World Major Marathons, they’ve brought pancreatic cancer awareness to the global stage. 3 - Community Stories: Through podcasts, events, and community stories, they give hope and strength to those impacted. Their mission is to make early detection a reality and improve survival rates. Bruce’s story is a reminder of how much this work matters. 💜 Today, I honor Bruce and the progress being made by Project Purple. #WorldPancreaticCancerDay #ProjectPurple #PancreaticCancerAwarenessMonth
