I didn't have to interview for my biggest promotion ever. My boss quit. I wanted the superintendent job more than anything. But instead of asking me to apply & interview.. The man who was about to be my new boss: ⚪ went to the control room. ⚪ pulled up a chair. ⚪ asked my operators if they wanted me for the job. ⚪ asked the other salaried staff the same thing ⚪ came to my office. ✳️ told me I'd have an offer by the end of the day. If there is ONE thing I stress over and over to clients.. It's the importance of building relationships in a way that establishes INFLUENCE, AUTHORITY, RESPECT, ADMIRATION. How? It's pretty simple. Spend most of your time here: Hourly operators. Maintenance. Fork truck drivers. Storeroom workers. If you don't build relationships with the backbone of your plant/site/office.. You will never be able to lead them. -> Maybe you think you have nothing in common - I did. -> Maybe you're bad at small talk - I was. But people are people. Everyone has something they care about. Be curious enough to find out what it is, & watch the relationship grow. You want the secret to building influence at work? Care about people & build skills to show them. #femaleengineers #manufacturing #engineering 🖤🖤🖤 Join me & a community of female engineers for my.. 𝟯-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 Link in comments to check out general vs vip admission ⤵️ Let's party 🎉

#JobSeeking #HiringChallenges #MechanicJobs Hey everyone! 👋 I’m seeking your insights on a rather tricky situation we’re facing in our recruitment efforts. We’re based in Salt Lake City and, after really ramping up our efforts—including increasing pay and broadening our outreach—we thought we were finally on the right track to hire a mechanic. But here’s the kicker: we had our first interview scheduled today, and guess what? The candidate didn’t show up. 😱 To make matters worse, the other candidates we were excited about have gone completely silent. It's frustrating because this is the only position where we’re hitting a wall like this. So, what gives? Here’s what we’re dealing with: Inconsistent Engagement: The candidates seem eager when applying, but something's steering them away from the interview. Potential Reputation Issues: We're curious if there's a deeper issue affecting how our company is viewed—beyond the usual job platforms like Glassdoor or Indeed. Why do these pain p... 👀 Things aren't always what they seem...at least when it comes to applicants for a job posting on LinkedIn...don't be discouraged if you see a job posting shows a high amount of applicants. If you’ve ever seen a job posting on LinkedIn and felt discouraged by the number of applicants, don't be... the displayed number is misleading. Many of those applicants don't meet the basic requirements. I see recruiters posting about this often but here's my example: Recently posted an opening for an A&P mechanic. Right away I had seven applicants...very exciting; or so it seemed! Upon closer inspection, I found only one resume that met the job criteria. The other six applicants were automatically marked as not qualified because they didn't meet the requirements. This meant that only 14% of the applicants were actually viable candidates. This experience highlights that the number of applicants shown on LinkedIn isn’t a true reflection of the number of qualified candidates. So, if you are qualified, don’t hesitate to apply, even if it seems like there’s a lot of competition. Your qualifications could very well set you apart from the crowd! #JobSearchTips #LinkedInJobs #AviationCareers #JobMarketInsights #CareerAdvice #PilotJobs #AviationCommunity
