I am pleased to share the link to my intervention as President of the Conference of NGOs in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations during the opening day of the World Summit on Information Society Forum High-Level Event #WSIS2024 in Geneva, Switzerland. It's the fifth event from the top of the archived list. My intervention starts shortly after 30:00. In it, I emphasized the legacy of the #wsisprocess that modeled a participatory, consultative, collaborative, and innovative relation among #civilsocietyorganizations, the #UN System, and governments at all levels on matters of governance of information, communication, and digital technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Just one quote from what I said: "The current digital divide and widespread disinformation in social media does not augur well for a world already in excess of fear and in deficit of hope. My wish for WSIS is that now and in the future, it will address this excess fear and deficiency of hope and instead establish digital and communication rights and justice."
